Chapter 226

I moved back to the balcony, lowering my voice to ensure Elsa
wouldn’t wake, though my wolf was urging me to roar my claim for
the whole fucking city to hear.
“You know, it’s intéresting how you’ve suddenly become her white
knight.” My lips curled into a snarl as I gripped the balcony railing,
knuckles turning white. “Tell me, does she know about your
extracurricular activities? Does she know what you did to Samuel?”
His silence was telling, and I felt a surge of vicious satisfaction.
“Every time she sees you,” I continued, my voice dropping to a
dangerous whisper, “all she’ll be able to picture is you breaking
Samuel’s kneecaps with a steel rod. Not exactly the image of the good
guy you’re trying to project, is it? Bet that would fucking terrify her.”

“That’s not-”
“Cut the bullshit,” I interrupted, crushing my cigarette under my heel
with more force than necessary. “The fake concern, the helping
hand… it’s all an act. Did you really think she wouldn’t question why

you’re so willing to help her without wanting anything in return?
She’s not stupid, Allen. She’s too fucking smart for your games.”
A soft rustling from the bed caught my attention. Elsa was stirring,
her eyes fluttering open. She bolted upright when she saw me with
her phone, the sheet falling away to reveal her naked body, only
partially covered by a towel she must have wrapped around herself
earlier.
“I need to go,” I said to Allen, unable to keep the smug satisfaction
from my voice. “Elsa’s favorite man is calling.” I hung up before he
could respond, tossing the phone aside.
Elsa lunged toward me, her eyes wild with panic, her scent spiking
with fear. “Give me my phone!”
I caught her easily, one arm around her waist, feeling her warm skin
against mine. I tossed the phone onto the armchair across the room
and lifted her into my arms, my cock already hardening at the feeling
of her struggling against me.

“What did you say to him?” she demanded, pushing against my chest,
her nails digging into my skin. “Drake, what the fuck did you tell
him?”
I carried her back to the bed, pinning her beneath me with my weight,

my hands capturing her wrists and stretching them above her head.
Her eyes were fierce, challenging–exactly how I fucking liked them.
“Nothing he didn’t already know,” I replied, reaching for my discarded
tie on the nightstand, my movements deliberate and predatory.
Before she could protest further, I wrapped the silk tie around her
wrists, binding them together above her head. The sight of her
restrained beneath me sent a jolt of primal satisfaction through my
body.
“Now, where were we before we were so rudely interrupted?” I
growled, my hand sliding possessively down her side.
“Drake, I swear to God-”
I silenced her with a kiss, nipping at her lower lip until she gasped,
giving me access to deepen the kiss. “You still haven’t had enough,
have you?” I whispered against her ear, biting the lobe and tugging it
between my teeth. “Always so fucking hungry for me.”
Despite her anger, I could smell her arousal, feel the way her body
responded to my touch. Her hips arched toward me involuntarily,
betraying her desire.
“Fuck you,” she hissed, but there was less venom in it than before.

I noticed a shift in her expression, a calculating look entering her
eyes. Suddenly, she stopped resisting and instead pressed herself
against me, her bound hands finding their way to my hair.
“Fine,” she whispered, her voice taking on a seductive edge that
surprised me. “If I can’t get rid of you, I might as well enjoy what
you’re offering.”
Her sudden compliance caught me off guard, but I recovered quickly,
smirking down at her as I gripped her hip hard enough to leave
fingerprints. “Finally accepting what we both know?”
She rolled her eyes but didn’t stop the movement of her hips agains
mine. “Don’t flatter yourself. I’m just taking what I want for once.”
I laughed, enjoying this new fire in her, my hand tangling in her hair
and pulling just hard enough to expose her throat. “Take all you want,
baby. I’ve got plenty to give.”
She flinched at the endearment. “Don’t call me that.”
“What? Baby?” I deliberately emphasized the word, watching her
