Chapter 105
Nathan’s POV
I was at home when I got a call.
“Hello. Are you the emergency contact for Ms. Darvin? She just got injured and was rushed to our hospital…”
For half a heartbeat, the world went silent.
Then my wolf lunged inside me with a mix of panic and anger.
My grip tightened so hard the phone creaked. The veins along my hand rose like cords ready to snap.
Aria.
Injured.?
I didn’t wait for details. I hung up and barked, “Collins, get the car ready. We’re going to Harmsworth Group Private Hospital. Now.”
My Alpha tone rolled out sharp and unforgiving, the kind that made subordinates snap to attention. Collins was already scrambling behind me before I even reached the door, muttering orders into his phone.
The moment I hit the lobby, my wolf was pacing, snarling against my ribs.
She’s hurt. She’s hurt. Move.
I shrugged on my suit jacket, barely aware I’d grabbed it.
The Bentley didn’t so much drive as tear through the streets. I didn’t care about the horns or the sharp
swerves.
Before the car fully stopped, I shoved the door open and jumped out.
I never ran. Alphas didn’t run, except I was on a hunt.
But I did.
My usually frozen composure cracked, my wolf’s fear leaking into my eyes.
The receptionist recovered from her shock faster than most people could manage as soon as she saw me “Alpha Nathan, what brings you here?”
“I need to know which department a woman named Aria Darvin is in. She was admitted today.”
Her eyes widened. Everyone knew who that name belong to, my luna. They probably wouldn’t recognize her due to how different she looked after prison.
She typed like her life depended on it, then slid the information across. The second I had it, I was gone,

my strides long, fast and fueled by panic I hadn’t felt since.
As I neared the department, two nurses’ voices drifted around the corner.
“You wouldn’t believe it. The paramedics said the place was covered in blood. And when they brought the patient in, it looked like the bones were shattered.”
Blood? Bones shattered.
A cold wave crashed through me. My fingertips began to tremble. My wolf stiffened, then roared in my
head.
Find her. Now.
“Really? Need blood donations? I heard we’re running low-”
That was all I heard before instinct took over.
I rounded the corner and grabbed one of the nurses by the wrist, a little harder than intended.
“I’m the emergency contact for the patient inside,” I said, my voice raw and shaking. “I’m O-type. Where
do I donate blood?”
My breath hitched.
“How is she? And the baby?”
Both nurses froze like prey under an Alpha’s shadow.
The one I held stared up at me, speechless. “A…Alpha Nathan…”
My patience snapped.
“If you can’t answer a simple question like this, find another job!”
She flinched, jolted like lightning had struck her.
“A-All right! I’ll take you there immediately!”
Good.
Because every second we wasted felt like another drop of Aria’s blood hitting the ground.
I followed right behind her, my body rigid with terror, my wolf scraping at my bones, snarling one single word over and over:
Mate.
Aria’s POV
I had just stepped out of the department, Lana cradled against my hip, when I caught sight of him.

Nathan.
He stood in the hallway like a storm barely held back. His jaw was clenched, his shoulders rigid, his eyes sharp enough to slice through steel.
Why… why did he look like that?
Then I heard the conversation between the nurses and his raw and desperate
voice when he pulled one of the nurses close, “…I’m O-type. Where can I donate blood? How is she and the baby?”
My breath hitched.
He thought I was the one who lost all that blood? He thought… I was dying?
My wolf froze inside me, stunned.
I knew how the upper-class valued their bodies, Nathan more than anyone. He never risked unnecessary injuries, never even missed a dose of vitamins. He lived like someone whose blood was made of gold.
Yet he had offered to donate it without hesitation, for me?
Before I could make sense of the tightness in my chest, the nurse guiding him suddenly slowed. I could
sense her nervousness.
Then she mustered courage and said, “Alpha Nathan… The one who lost a ton of blood is a golden retriever. You don’t have to donate blood…”
