15 Chapter 15 Nightmare Begins Again
My heart plummeted. The implicit threat was crystal clear, a calculated manipulation.
The brutal honesty seemed to stagger him. His expression shifted through emotions I’d never witnessed before-regret, recognition, and possibly vulnerability. The moment passed quickly.
Seraphina’s POV
“Get your things. We’re going home.”
The question tore from my throat, a desperate demand for closure. I deserved peace. I deserved to build a life beyond his overwhelming shadow.
The command shattered my trance. My head snapped up, meeting his stare directly for the first time. I let everything show in my expression-the exhaustion, the defiance, the pain I could no longer hide.
Alpha Quincy stood waiting, his silver hair seeming to crackle with barely contained energy. His normally calm blue eyes blazed with icy rage.
He stepped inside without acknowledgment, his imposing frame consuming the doorway before moving deeper into my cramped sanctuary. No knock, no request for entry. Just the assumption that my space belonged to him by right.
“Julian.”
Heat pooled in my chest while my breath hitched. The room narrowed until only he remained, everything else fading into meaningless background noise.
I kept my gaze fixed downward, unable to bear witnessing the raw hatred that surely burned in his eyes. The confusion ate at me. Shouldn’t he be celebrating? Finally free of his burden, his unwanted mistake?

through the silence, each word dripping with controlled fury that stung worse than screaming, “to hide in this filthy roadside dump.”
“Why do you despise me this much? What sin did I commit against you?” I whispered, hating how broken and desperate I sounded.

His stare bore into me with furious disappointment, and I knew with absolute certainty that my real nightmare was just beginning.
“I promise we’ll discuss everything once we’re home,” he said, lowering his hand. But he had no concept of what home meant.
The journey back to pack territory passed in suffocating silence, heavy with unresolved tension. Each mile felt like another shackle being forged, dragging me toward a future I no longer wanted. When the massive stone walls of the packhouse emerged through the trees, dread flooded my system.
“Aren’t you exhausted by this?” The words tasted like ash. I had sworn not to break down in front of him, but tears betrayed my resolve, streaming hot down my face.
I wouldn’t let him deflect again. I had more to say.

breathed at your pace, existed only as you saw fit. But you never showed me an ounce of kindness or understanding. I’m finished.” My volume rose with each word, every syllable hammering against the wall between us. “Finished being treated like some plague because I agreed to this marriage. I’m your mate, damn it, and while neither of us chose this bond, you made me feel responsible for destroying your happiness. You convinced me I was the villain in your story, and maybe everything would be different if we’d never crossed paths, but I refuse to carry that guilt anymore!”
