Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever novel Chapter 23

Chapter 23: Chapter 23 – Let’s remarry

Ravyn had called Alpha Voren earlier, but the call had gone unanswered which was never a good sign. Voren was rarely unavailable unless he was buried under negotiations or boardroom warfare.

Still, when Voren finally arrived, it was at precisely the right moment, and the timing alone eased some of the tension coiled in Ravyn’s chest.

Voren paused at the threshold of the office, one brow lifting as he took in the scene. Seraphine at in front of Ravyn, near the desk, heels sharp against the marble floor, her posture unyielding. Ravyn remained behind the desk, jaw tight.

"Am I interrupting something?" Voren asked coolly, already half-turned as if prepared to leave.

Ravyn lifted a hand, beckoning him in. "No. You’re right on time."

Voren stepped inside, the door closing softly behind him. He had seen Ravyn’s missed calls earlier but had been locked in consecutive meetings.

His original plan had been to invite Ravyn to lunch and hear him out in a neutral setting, not expecting Seraphine’s presence again. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

The mere sight of her sparked irritation deep in his chest, irrational, and immediate. Old wounds had a way of resurfacing uninvited.

His gaze sharpened. "Are you two back together?"

The question was edged with annoyance, his tone biting despite his attempt at control.

Seraphine scoffed, folding her arms. "Never," she said flatly. "I’m just reclaiming what’s mine. Though he seems terrified of letting it go."

Voren’s eyes flicked to Ravyn briefly, then returned to her. This woman. The last encounter they’d shared still burned in his memory.

Her sharp tongue, her unapologetic defiance. He hadn’t forgiven her for calling him a fool, and he certainly would not.

"Even if you take all that money," Voren said coldly, stepping closer, "what exactly do you think you’ll do with it? No one will do business with you. I’ll make sure of that."

It was a threat, plain and unhidden. Corvine froze, but Seraphine smiled. It wasn’t nervous or forced. Just a dangerously calm one. "Then I’ll start my own company."

For a fraction of a second, Voren was caught off guard, then a cold smirk curved his lips. "Even with that, you still need partnerships, and I’d like to see you try."

Ravyn, well aware of Voren’s reach and influence, allowed himself a faint smile. But Corvine, standing nearby, leaned toward Seraphine and spoke quietly, concern threading his voice. "Let’s focus on Ravyn. Don’t provoke Voren."

Seraphine exhaled slowly, then straightened and rose to her feet. The click of her heels echoed as she faced Voren directly. With her added height, she reached nearly to his shoulders, her presence impossible to ignore.

"I already did," she said calmly. "And don’t forget my warning, Voren."

A scoff escaped him, disbelief flickering across his face. Where did she find this audacity? Before he could respond, Ravyn pulled him aside, lowering his voice.

"If I transfer the shares to her directly," Ravyn said, "it’ll destabilize the company. The board won’t take it lightly. Will you buy them?"

Voren frowned. He already held shares in Walker Global Enterprises, but increasing his stake had never been part of the plan. "It would take weeks," he admitted. "I don’t have that kind of liquid cash sitting idle. A few hundred million at best."

Ravyn nodded in understanding. No true billionaire kept their wealth dormant. It was spread across assets, stocks, and holdings. "She won’t grant an extension," he added grimly. "She wants the money now."

Voren exhaled, frustrated, then turned back to Seraphine. "Ravyn will sign. I’ll transfer the money next week. Deal?" He hoped that for once, she would bend her demands but no.
