Chapter 334: Chapter 334 – Your Possessive Boyfriend

Corvine shook his head, eyes locked straight ahead on the road. "Your possessive boyfriend isn’t breathing down my neck anymore."

He actually loved how crazy possessive Voren was over Seraphine, but damn, he had to admit it was stressful as hell for a guy like him. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

He’d been raised and trained to serve, even though he came from a wealthy family. That kind of pressure could wear on anybody.

His words hit just right though, pulling a real, genuine laugh out of Seraphine, the kind she couldn’t hold back even if she tried her hardest. The word boyfriend sounded strange to her because she was never technically in a relationship before.

Now, it made her feel like a teenager. Corvine felt his own smile stretch wide across his face. For years he’d watched Seraphine carry burdens that would’ve completely crushed most people.

Hearing her laugh so freely like that? It felt like the best damn reward he could ask for.

"I’ve never seen this side of Voren before," she said, leaning back all comfortable in her seat. "And honestly? It’s kinda satisfying."

Corvine snorted. "Kinda?" His eyebrow shot way up. "Sera, the man follows you around like you’re gonna vanish the second he blinks."

Her cheeks flushed hot right away. "That’s not true."

"It absolutely is," he shot back, his grin getting even bigger. "If you told him tomorrow you wanted to go to the moon, he’d probably start building a damn rocket tonight."

Another bright laugh burst out of her. The image was totally ridiculous, but somehow it felt completely believable when it came to Voren.

A comfortable, easy silence settled between them for a bit before Corvine spoke again, his voice softer and way more sincere this time. "I’m really happy for you."

Seraphine turned to look at him, and the genuine warmth shining in his eyes hit her straight in the heart. "You deserve this."

Corvine’s grip tightened a little harder on the steering wheel. "After everything Ravyn put you through..." A dark shadow crossed his face. "I never forgot the nasty shit he said."

Neither had she. Some wounds didn’t just disappear completely. They healed just enough to stop bleeding, but the scars stayed.

Corvine kept going, jaw clenched tight. "When he challenged you and claimed no Alpha would ever marry you... I hated myself." Seraphine frowned deeply. "Why?"

"Because I felt so fucking powerless," he admitted quietly, voice thick with emotion. "I wanted you to end up with someone way better than him. Someone stronger. Someone who was truly worthy of you."

A huge wave of emotion swelled up in Seraphine’s chest. Corvine had always been right there, through every single heartbreak, every brutal battle, and every impossible situation she’d faced.

She reached over and squeezed his arm gently, her touch full of gratitude. "You were never powerless. You supported me in the best way you could, even when you defied his orders to throw me in the dungeon."

Corvine didn’t answer right away, but the grateful look in his eyes said everything words couldn’t.

The rest of the drive passed with easy, flowing conversation, and by the time they pulled up to the office building, they’d both switched fully into serious work mode.

The second they stepped into Seraphine’s office, Corvine turned completely professional. He dropped several files neatly onto her desk.

"We’re still recruiting more human employees."
