Ravyn didn’t react at all. Daisy’s voice might as well have vanished into thin air for how much attention he paid it. His gaze stayed completely locked on Seraphine, unable to tear himself away from the breathtaking woman sitting so comfortably in the chair that was supposed to belong to Voren.
A sharp sting of jealousy pierced straight through Daisy’s chest. She clenched her hands tight, forcing a smile that never came close to reaching her eyes. When Ravyn refused to even acknowledge her, she turned directly toward Seraphine instead.
"Sera." Her voice carried loud and clear across the room. "That seat is already taken. It’s reserved for Alpha Voren."
The second the words left her mouth, whispers exploded through the hall. Several Lunas exchanged knowing glances before leaning in to share their thoughts.
"Daisy really never learns."
"If I were her, I’d keep my mouth shut after everything that happened last night."
"Exactly."
"She’s only making herself look worse."
"I’d be too embarrassed to say another word."
Each whispered comment landed like another sharp needle stabbing into Daisy’s pride. Her face burned hot with humiliation. She wanted nothing more than for the floor to open up and swallow her whole.
Before the awkward silence could stretch out any longer and make everything even worse, Seraphine calmly turned toward Voren. A playful smile tugged at the corners of her lips.
"Voren..." She deliberately used his first name instead of his title, letting the familiarity hang in the air. "You don’t mind, do you?"
Every Alpha nearby stiffened in their seats. None of them would have ever dared speak to the Supreme Alpha so casually. Voren stayed perfectly composed, his face giving nothing away as those deep eyes rested on Seraphine.
"No." The answer came without even a second of hesitation. "I wasn’t planning to sit there anyway."
His calm acceptance sent another wave of pain crashing through Daisy’s heart. For one brief moment, bitter disappointment washed over her completely.
Then the memory of the wish she had made beneath that full moon came flooding back, soothing the ugly bitterness trying to eat her alive. Soon enough, everything would change in ways they couldn’t even imagine.
Her fingers brushed over the elegant golden gown that hugged every curve of her body, her long blonde hair cascading beautifully over her shoulders and matching the shimmering fabric perfectly.
Today she would officially become Ravyn’s Luna. Even if the ceremony carried the same weight as marriage, Daisy stayed utterly convinced of one unshakable truth: the mate bond was stronger than any vow, stronger than any ceremony, stronger than any promise.
Once Voren became her mate, Seraphine wouldn’t matter anymore. She would make absolutely sure he cut every single tie connecting him to that she-wolf, every partnership, every conversation, every reason to stay close. The thought alone brought a small, satisfied smile to her lips.
The officiator stepped forward with a ceremonial scroll in his hands and cleared his throat. His gaze accidentally drifted toward Seraphine again, and for a brief second, he completely forgot why he was even standing there.
She was impossible to ignore, with those diamonds woven into her gown shimmering beneath the crystal lights and making her look almost unreal. He quickly pulled himself together and continued.
"I hereby declare Daisy Reel the official Luna of the Centenary Pack. From today onwards, she shall be called Luna Daisy Walker."
Thunderous applause erupted throughout the entire hall. Guests rose to their feet, some cheering loudly while others clapped politely, their eyes secretly drifting back to Seraphine the whole time.
Ravyn leaned forward and brushed a brief, formal kiss across Daisy’s lips, respectful and nothing more. Once tradition had been fulfilled, the newly crowned Alpha and Luna began making their way around the hall, offering polite greetings to the elders and officiators one by one.
Not long afterward, the elders excused themselves so they could return to the area where the pack’s pups were being cared for during the ceremony.
The moment the senior members left, the whole atmosphere changed dramatically. The formal event melted away into a full-blown celebration.
