Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever novel Chapter 96

Chapter 96: Chapter 96 - this is our chance to kick her out

A faint smile curved across Ravyn’s lips as he leaned back against the couch, his eyes narrowing with quiet satisfaction because the situation unfolding in the room felt like the perfect opening he had been waiting for.

Even though Seraphine loved presenting herself as some rare genius whose mind moved several steps ahead of everyone else, Ravyn believed that confidence would crumble the moment a veteran investor decided that her presence had become inconvenient.

In rooms like this one, where power, ego, and massive sums of money intertwined, brilliance alone never guaranteed survival.

"The bitch wants more money, so just double the amount and she’ll agree," Ravyn said with a smug tone that carried across the room, clearly convinced that he had uncovered the simplest solution.

Seraphine turned her gaze toward him, and the faint smile resting on her lips did not disappear in the slightest. Instead, it grew almost thoughtful, as though she found his comment mildly entertaining rather than insulting.

"It would probably amaze you to learn that even if Mr. Tayler were investing a trillion dollars, my response would remain exactly the same," she replied smoothly, her voice calm enough to make the tension in the room feel almost absurd.

Ravyn’s jaw tightened instantly because her composure made him feel as if she were laughing at him without actually doing it.

"Voren, this is our chance to kick her out," Ravyn said through clenched teeth, the irritation in his voice impossible to hide.

Voren responded with a quiet chuckle that carried none of Ravyn’s enthusiasm and instead sounded filled with disappointment.

"Here I was thinking you might actually do a decent job as chairman," Voren said as he leaned forward slightly, his eyes resting heavily on Ravyn in a way that carried the weight of an older man who had watched too many mistakes unfold. "Ravyn, you seriously need to learn that emotions have to stay outside the room when it’s time for business."

The words landed harder than Ravyn expected, and the sting of them appeared instantly across his face. Dismay crept through him as the realization settled in that he had disappointed Voren once again, and the expression on the man’s face carried an unmistakable frustration that came from watching someone refuse to grow despite having every opportunity to do so.

Voren did not stop there because the meeting still had to continue.

"Mr. Tayler," he continued calmly, turning his attention toward the older investor across the room, "you know very well that meetings like this are meant for business first and everything else second. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

We might allow a little entertainment here and there, but she happens to be right in this case. If someone wants to go to extremes, then getting a private room somewhere would be the better option, and if she refuses an investment because of something like that, it still is not enough reason to push her out of this gathering."

Seraphine listened quietly while the discussion unfolded, and the faint smile on her face deepened just a little. Voren had turned out to be far more reasonable than she originally expected, and judging from the calm logic in his words, he had clearly put on his thinking cap long before the meeting even began.

"I’m investing forty billion," Gordon suddenly announced from across the room, his voice filled with the excitement of someone already imagining the profits this project might bring. In his mind, the surge in earnings could easily secure his position on the Forbes list for a very long time.
