Alpha’s STOLEN Mate

Chapter 264

Strength flooded back into my limbs-not physical strength, but something else. Hope. Determination. The absolute certainty that I wasn’t

alone anymore.

Zane frowned, noticing the change. “What-

I didn’t let him finish. I attacked with everything I had left-not the measured tactical strikes from before, but pure, desperate fury. My fangs found his throat. My claws raked across his face. I fought like a cornered animal with nothing left to lose.

He’s coming. Just need to hold on. Just need to-

Zane stumbled backward, genuine alarm flickering across his transformed features. He’d expected me to be broken, defeated. Instead, I was a whirlwind of white fur and rage.

“Stop this!” He blocked my strikes, but he was fighting defensively now, trying to subdue rather than kill. “You’re only making this worse

for yourself!

Don’t care. Don’t care. He’s coming-

My renewed assault drove Zane back across the platform. For a glorious moment, I had him on the defensive, his Blood Lord form struggling to contain my frenzied attacks without causing serious harm.

But then his expression changed. Irritation giving way to cold calculation.

“Enough.” His voice dropped to something dangerous. ‘I wanted to keep you intact. Preserve that magnificent body unmarred.” His eyes narrowed. “But if you insist on being difficult, I suppose a few missing pieces won’t matter. After all- His smile turned vicious. “-a dog that bites needs its teeth pulled.”

The air itself seemed to darken. Not just the clouds he’d summoned, but reality itself dimming around him. His Blood Lord form intensified, red energy crackling across his skin like lightning.

“Let me show you,” he said softly, “what happens to wolves who bare their fangs at me.”

He raised both hands, and the world exploded.

The attack was beyond anything I’d seen before-crimson energy that seemed to warp space itself, a manifestation of pure vampire power that made the previous sphere look like a child’s toy. It was apocalyptic. The kind of attack that could level buildings, that could kill

dozens.

The kind of attack designed to completely overwhelm and destroy.

Chapter 264

And with it came a wave of supernatural suppression so intense that my bond-my precious, newly-restored connection to Kaius–

slammed shut again like a door in a hurricane.

No! NO!

The loss of that connection hit harder than any physical blow. One moment I’d felt his presence growing closer, and the next-nothing.

Just terrible, crushing emptiness.

My confidence shattered. My renewed hope crumbled.

69

I tried to dodge, but I was already exhausted. Tried to deflect, but this wasn’t something that could be deflected. The crimson wave caught

me full-force, and agony beyond description tore through my body.

I heard myself scream-a wolf’s yelp of pure pain-as bones cracked and flesh tore. The impact sent me tumbling across the platform, my

white fur now matted with blood from a dozen new wounds.

When I finally stopped rolling, I couldn’t move. Couldn’t even lift my head. Everything hurt. Everything was broken.

Get up. Have to get up. He’s coming, I know he’s coming, just have to-

But my body wouldn’t obey. My wolf form flickered, unstable, and then dissolved entirely. I reverted to human form, lying broken on the

blood-stained stone.

Naked. Vulnerable. Defeated.

“There we are.” Zane’s boots appeared in my limited field of vision. “That’s better. No more teeth. No more claws. Just a broken little wolf

who finally understands her place.”

He grabbed my hair-I was too weak to even flinch-and began dragging me across the platform. Every movement sent fresh waves of agony through my shattered body. I left a trail of blood behind me, a crimson path marking my defeat.

“You could have made this so much easier,” Zane said conversationally, as if discussing the weather rather than my imminent imprisonment. “Could have been treated like a queen. Instead, you chose to be a rabid animal.” He clicked his tongue in mock disappointment. “Now you’ll be treated like one. Caged. Collared. Broken until you learn obedience.”

No. Please. Kaius, where are you-

But the bond remained stubbornly silent. Whatever Zane had done with that last attack had severed it again, more completely than

before.

Tears leaked from my eyes, mixing with the blood. Not from pain-though the pain was excruciating-but from despair. I’d been so close.

So close to rescue, to hope, to-

The bond exploded back to life.

Chapter 264

Not gradually. Not gently. It came roaring back with the force of a supernova, blazing so bright and fierce that I gasped despite my

injuries.

And through it, I felt him. Kaius. His rage. His terror. His absolute, devastating fury.

A shadow fell across the square-massive, fast, deadly.

Zane looked up just in time to see the enormous black wolf descending from above like divine retribution.

Kaius hit him with the force of an avalanche. The impact sent Zane flying backward, his grip on my hair finally releasing. He crashed into

a stone pillar hard enough to crack it, dust and debris raining down.

Before Zane could recover, Frost materialized from the shadows-literally, his ability to move through darkness on full display. He scooped

me up in his arms, his touch surprisingly gentle despite the urgency, and carried me away from the platform in a blur of speed.

“I’ve got you,” he murmured. “You’re safe. You’re safe now.”

He set me down carefully about twenty meters from where Kaius and Zane faced each other. I wanted to speak, to thank him, to ask about

Kaius-but my broken ribs made speech impossible. I could only watch, relief and terror warring in my chest.

He came. He actually came for me.
