An Affair With The Ceo (Natasha and Jared) novel Chapter 156

Chapte: 156 He’d Always Mistaken Her

Chapter 156 He’d Always Mistaken Her

Jared raised an eyebrow. “What’s wrong?”

Natasha glared at him, clearly annoyed.

Her face was full of regret. If she’d known he’d already asked Derek to bring him some clothes, she wouldn’t have handed him those boxers. She almost made him think she was hinting at something.

“You…” Natasha opened her mouth, but ended up just staring at him, unable to say anything for that moment.

“Forget it!” Natasha said, heading to the kitchen for breakfast.

When she came out, Jared was already rocking a fresh, limited-edition suit.

The fabric was luxurious and tailored to perfection. It made him look even taller and more commanding. His good looks seemed almost sculpted by perfection.

Natasha couldn’t help but stare for a moment, completely stunned. ‘Damn, he’s way too hot, Natasha thought.

But she snapped out of it pretty quickly. She warned herself not to get seduced by his looks.

Jared slung his arm around Natasha’s shoulder and said, “Let’s go, I’ll send you to work.”

Natasha dodged his touch without even thinking. “No, that’s okay…” she mumbled.

Jared frowned. “Why not?”

Natasha insisted, “I’ll go by myself later. You go ahead!”

If they showed up at the office together, people would definitely talk. She didn’t want anyone accusing her of sleeping her way to the top.

Since he was the boss, it didn’t matter to him. Nobody would dare say anything about him anyway. But for her, it’d be a real headache.

Jared’s eyes were sharp and intense. “You don’t want people to find out about us?”

Natasha looked up at him and shot back, “Do you?”

Even if their relationship got out, it’d hit her way harder, but it’d affect him too, just hot as much. Having a close relationship with his female subordinate, who was secretly his wife, would definitely be bad for his reputation.

To her surprise, Jared actually said, “Absolutely!”

Natasha’s face instantly fell.

Jared stared straight into her eyes, speaking each word with emphasis. “I wish the whole world knew we were together.” “You!” Natasha blurted out, her eyes wide in disbelief. She was so shocked she could barely process what she’d just heard.

She never saw that coming. ‘Has he completely lost his mind?!’ Natasha thought.

Jared lowered himself, staring her down from up close. “Whenever you want to make it official, just let me know. I’m ready whenever you are,” he said. With that, he turned and walked away.

Even though Jared really wanted to head to the office with her, he knew Natasha needed time to adjust.

He’d spent the night at her place, and this morning, they’d tangled up again in the bathroom. He kept pushing her limits. She needed time to slowly get used to what was going on between them.

For the next few days, Natasha didn’t run into Jared at all. Her nerves finally began to settle, and she could actually relax for

once.

‘It’s been a while since Percy and I got divorced, Natasha thought. ‘I wonder if he’s moved his things out yet.’

After work that day, Natasha deliberately went back to the apartment she and Percy had shared after their wedding. When she opened the door, she found the place looked the same as before; nothing had changed at all.

All the furniture and appliances were still there, and even Percy’s things hadn’t been moved; nothing was missing. Natasha couldn’t help but frown.

She remembered that after visiting Percy’s family’s mansion with him last time, she’d reminded him again about moving his stuff out. He was free to take his things from the apartment anytime.

Yet all these days after their divorce, everything was still exactly where it was. ‘What’s Percy playing at?’ Natasha frowned.

Natasha grabbed her phone and called Percy. She called him three times, and he hung up each time. Natasha had no clue

why Percy kept hanging up on her.

But one thing was crystal clear to her: she needed to clear out everything in the apartment soon.

Since she and Percy had agreed that the apartment would be hers after the divorce, it was about time she dealt with the place.

Natasha was planning to sell the apartment, and she had no intention of ever coming back here.

Just being in this place reminded her of how messy their marriage had been. She never wanted to bring up that failed relationship again.

She snapped a few photos of the place, planning to list it with a real estate agent and get it sold. When Natasha got home, her phone suddenly rang; it was Percy calling.

Natasha tapped the answer button and said, “Hello…”

She thought Percy was returning her call. But instead, Percy immediately demanded, “Did you go back to the apartment today?”

Natasha paused, caught off guard. Then she realized, he meant the apartment they’d shared after the wedding.

“Yeah, so when are you…” Natasha asked, but before she could finish, Percy interrupted her.

He cut her off, demanding, “Did you go into my room?”

Natasha admitted, “Yeah, I did go in…”

‘I only went in to take some pictures so I could put the apartment up for sale, Natasha thought.

Percy sounded a bit anxious. “Did you see a handkerchief in my drawer?”

Natasha asked, puzzled. “What handkerchief?”

Percy said, “The one with the rainbow bear on it…”

The rainbow bear handkerchief?’ Natasha thought, her mind racing. ‘Is that what he’s looking for?’

Natasha was stunned. She really did take that handkerchief, but she hadn’t taken it today.

It was before their divorce; she’d gone into his room to find the wedding ring he’d given her, planning to hand it back to him right after they signed the papers at City Hall. That was when she stumbled across the rainbow bear handkerchief, too. She’d wiped Percy’s tears with that handkerchief when she stepped in to help him during those school bullying days.

But that handkerchief was hers to begin with. She was simply reclaiming what belonged to her.

“Yeah, I have that handkerchief…” Natasha admitted.
