Chapter 254 She Wants a Divorce

Chapter 254 She Wants a Divorce

Natasha locked eyes with her. “I said you can believe whatever you want.”?

Sandra was left speechless.

She watched Natasha walk away, her eyes practically popping out in shock.

Sandra wondered, ‘Did Natasha figure something out?

‘Why has she been acting so differently toward me lately?’

Back then, no matter what Sandra said, Natasha would nod along like a good girl, never daring to say a word against her.

But now, Natasha kept talking back and always finding a way to disagree with her.

‘Of course. She’s not my real daughter. No matter how much you raise her, she’ll always be an ungrateful wretch; Sandra thought bitterly.

In a fit of anger, Sandra swept the bowl of fish soup Natasha had bought off the table, sending it crashing to the floor.

Over the next few days, Natasha didn’t see Jared at all.

Since she hadn’t been around any guys, Roxanne’s people couldn’t find anything suspicious about her.

Roxanne called off the people who’d been keeping an eye on her.

Natasha finally breathed a sigh of relief.

She could finally do whatever she wanted.

After work that day, Dorothy had something to deal with, so Natasha was left on her own.

Natasha walked out of the office building by herself.

Suddenly, the sound of a car horn snapped her out of her thoughts.

Natasha looked over, and to her surprise, it was Percy.

He was behind the wheel of a flashy sports car, shooting her a sly grin. “Get in.”

Natasha stood her ground. “Is there something you need?”

Percy raised an eyebrow. “How about dinner?”

Natasha shot back, “I’m good.”

She wasn’t about to waste her time on people who meant nothing to her.

Now that she no longer had any ties with Percy, keeping her distance was the smart move.

After all, even putting on an act for him was draining.

Percy reminded her, “We haven’t talked in a while. Even if it’s for show, we should put on an act.

“Otherwise, people might catch on that we’re no longer together.”

Natasha stopped in her tracks. He actually made sense.

The fact that she and Percy had broken up wasn’t public knowledge yet.

Every so often, she had to make an appearance to keep up her image.

“Fine, as long as you’re not worried it’ll mess up your chances of starting something new,” Natasha replied.

Percy’s brows knitted together.

His handsome face instantly darkened.

“Starting something new? I never even thought about getting into another relationship.” Percy shot back.

Natasha let out a cold laugh. “That’s not my problem.”

She’d heard the Grosso family had been arranging dates for Percy lately, so that’s why she asked.

Whether he admitted it or not, she really didn’t give a damn.

‘If I’m being real, I’d rather Percy hurry up and g

“Hop in, we’ll talk inside,” Percy urged her again.

Natasha hesitated for a second, then opened the car door and slid into the passenger seat.

“Have you heard any rumors lately?” Percy asked out of the blue.

“What kind of rumors?” Natasha shot him a look.

Percy fixed her with a serious gaze. “About me.”

Natasha replied coolly, “Sure, I’ve heard the gossip, but it’s got nothing to do with me.”

Percy quickly said, “Don’t pay attention to those rumors.”

Natasha scoffed. “Like I said, it’s none of my business.”

Her icy indifference left Percy feeling frustrated and a little hurt.

‘Does she really not care about me at all?’ Percy wondered.

Even after hearing that the Grosso family was trying to set him up on dates, hoping he’d move on and start something new, Natasha didn’t seem to care at all.

She didn’t even bat an eye.

Not a single flicker of emotion crossed her face.

She was nothing like the girl she used to be.

Ironically, he cared more about her feelings now than ever before.

Inside the restaurant, Natasha and Percy sat across from each other, quietly picking at their food.

They didn’t say a single word.

It wasn’t that Percy didn’t want to say something.

He didn’t know how to put it into words.

He knew Natasha still held something against him.

He had to admit that he’d treated her pretty badly before.

He’d totally ignored how she felt.

He’d ended up hurting her.

He was scared that anything he said would piss Natasha off.

She might not even want to have dinner with him ever again.

“If you’re up for it, maybe we should make our divorce public?” Natasha suddenly suggested.

Percy blinked in surprise. “What did you say?”

Natasha cut right to the chase. “I know the Grosso family’s been lining up blind dates for you. If we make our divorce public, you’ll officially be single again.

“It’s nothing but good news for you. Then you can go ahead and pick any high-society girl you want.”

Percy’s brows knitted, his tone deep and sharp. “Who says I want to marry some high-society girl?”

Natasha rolled her eyes. “Oh, drop the act already.”

She’d been married to him for over a year. She knew what he was really about.

Percy always cared most about a woman’s family status and how useful she could be to him.

The only reason he ever liked Joelle was that she was the Whittier family’s official heiress.

Maybe it was because he was an illegitimate child.

Percy always had a thing for heiresses from prestigious families, girls with impeccable lineage.

Someone like her, a child born out of wedlock, was never even a consideration for him.

Percy was caught off guard by her words, completely at a loss for how to respond.

Back then, he came from nothing and was desperate to make something of himself.

He was obsessed with heiresses from wealthy families at the time.

That was why he used to treat Natasha like she was beneath him.

But now, as the Grosso family’s heir, he basically had it all.

His standards for women seemed to have shifted, too.

Chapter 254 She Wants a Divorce

He wasn’t obsessed with a woman’s wealth or social standing anymore.

Now, like a lot of rich guys, he cared more about a woman’s looks, body, and personality.

And Natasha was a knockout in all three departments.

He found himself liking her more and more these days.

Natasha retorted with a mocking smile, “Come on, hasn’t marrying a rich heiress always been your dream?”
