“Hey!” Natasha said, swatting Jared’s hand away.

“Where else do you think you can get your hands on?” she demanded.

‘Can’t you take a hint and stop?’ Natasha grumbled inwardly.

Jared could tell Natasha was annoyed.

He backed off and stopped teasing her.

“It’s still dark out. You can catch a bit more sleep,” he said in a gentle tone, giving her a soft look.

“I want to go back now,” she said.

She lifted the covers and started to get out of bed.

Jared reached out to stop her before she could get out of bed.

“It’s only 4:30 in the morning. Where are you planning to go?”

She froze for a moment, surprised.

It was already the latter half of the night.

“Besides, your body hasn’t fully recovered yet. Try to sleep a little longer,” Jared coaxed.

Natasha hesitated, then asked, “What about you?”

As soon as the words left her mouth, she instantly regretted it.

‘Now it sounds like I actually want him to stay and sleep with me,’ she thought.

Jared shot her a knowing look. “Wherever you want me to sleep, that’s where I’ll sleep.”

Natasha looked awkward.

She bit her lip. “This is a hotel suite, right? There should be another room, right?”

There was no way she’d ask him to share a bed with her.

A flicker of disappointment flashed in Jared’s eyes.

Her words were her way of letting him know she didn’t want to share a bed with him.

To be honest, it was understandable.

She’d turned him down more than once before.

Still, it hurt him.

“Alright, rest up,” Jared said.

He didn’t try to force her or anything. He simply respected what she wanted.

With disappointment weighing on him, he closed the door and left.

After Jared left, Natasha was alone in bed.

She balled her fists, only to let them go slack, powerless.

It was never going to work between her and Jared.

It was better to get it over with now than let the pain drag on.

When the sky outside was tinged with pale gray, signaling dawn, she quietly got out of bed and slipped away.

She planned to leave without making a sound, so she wouldn’t wake Jared.

After all, he’d stayed by her side for a whole day and night, he had to be worn out.

She wanted him to get some real rest.

She moved quietly, careful not to make a sound.

As she was about to reach the door, Jared’s low voice came from behind her. “Heading out already?”

“It’s still early. Go get some sleep. I’ll have the driver take you home later,” he said.

Natasha stood her ground, looking back at him.

She didn’t move.

Jared’s voice was low and gentle as he said, “Come on, get some sleep for me, okay?”

He coaxed her again, his tone soft and caring.

With Jared’s intense, soulful eyes fixed on her, Natasha couldn’t say no.

She turned and went back to her room, lying down on the bed.

Her feelings were a tangled mess.

She knew Jared had saved her this time.

But now, she couldn’t find any other words for him, except a simple “thank you.”

There was no way they could ever go back to being friends with benefits.

Natasha took two days off to rest before heading back to work.

Cole’s jaw dropped. “Wait, she’s your girlfriend? I thought she was your assistant.”

Nicolas gave a sly smile. “She’s my assistant during the day, but at night, she’s my girlfriend.”

Cole immediately picked up on the message.

If Natasha had been another assistant working for Nicolas, he could’ve asked Nicolas to let her keep him company tonight. He’d have her stay with him for the evening.

But now that Natasha belonged to Nicolas, things were different.

He couldn’t make a move on her now.

Nelson laughed, trying to play it off. “Nicolas, your girlfriend is really beautiful. Sorry for being presumptuous.”

Natasha finally let out a sigh of relief when she heard that.

Nicolas exchanged a few polite words with Cole before saying goodbye.

Then he walked out of the hotel with Natasha.
