“Ah!” Natasha cried out, startled.

Right then, Jared’s voice came. “Where have you been?”

Natasha froze, instinctively turning to look, only to see an imposing figure sitting on the sofa.

The outline was unmistakably Jared’s.

“So you’re home!” she exclaimed, surprised.

She really thought Jared wasn’t home.

“I’m asking you, where have you been?” Jared repeated himself, his voice dropping even lower and more intense.

Natasha froze in place for a second.

“I… I just went shopping…” Natasha replied without thinking, her answer hesitant and uncertain.

Jared turned, fixing her with a cold stare. “By yourself?”

Jared’s eyes narrowed, his tone sharp. “What friend? Was it a guy or a girl?”

Natasha fell silent, not answering right away.

‘Is he seriously interrogating me?’ Natasha thought, her annoyance bubbling up.

She turned, wanting to walk away.

But Jared suddenly grabbed her wrist, stopping her in her tracks.

Before she could react, he pulled her down onto the sofa.

He turned her to face him and pulled her onto his lap.

The position was incredibly intimate, almost dangerously so.

Natasha’s cheeks instantly flushed red, and she tried to push him away.

But Jared gripped her waist, yanking her even closer to him.

“I’m asking you, who did you go shopping with?” Jared demanded, his voice low and intense.

Natasha looked up and met his eyes head-on.

She could see the anger flashing in his gaze.

She knew he was already mad, and if she lied to him now, he’d only get even angrier.

Better to just tell him the truth,’ she thought.

“Honestly… he’s not really my friend. He’s yours,” Natasha admitted, her voice low and a bit conflicted. “It was Nicolas. I’m the one who invited him out.”

‘She really just admitted, right in front of me, that she invited Nicolas out? Is she seriously betraying me without/even trying to hide it?’ Jared thought, stunned and pissed.

Jared’s brows knitted together. “Didn’t I warn you to stay away from him?”

“Yes… But-” Natasha hesitated, trying to explain.

But before she could say anything else, Jared cut her off, crushing his lips against hers in a rough kiss.

Natasha could hardly breathe.

She pressed her hands against his chest, trying to push him away.

But Jared kept forcing her closer, not letting her go.

She had no choice but to surrender to his forceful, domineering kiss.

At first, Natasha was resisting, but as the kiss went on, a sudden rush of unfamiliar desire shot through her body.

‘Damn it!’ Natasha cursed inwardly.

She hated how her body was betraying her.

‘I know I should be saying no. Why does my body keep wanting him?’ she thought, frustrated and confused. ‘No, I can’t let this go on. I’ll really fall for him if I don’t stop now.’

With that thought in mind, Natasha fought back even harder.

At last, she managed to pull herself out of Jared’s hold.

Her stubborn resistance to his kiss really pissed Jared off.

‘She won’t even let me kiss her anymore. Could it be she’s actually falling for Nicolas?’ Jared thought, jealousy twisting in his

gut.

“But what?” Jared asked, holding back his displeasure.

Even at a moment like this, he couldn’t bring himself to really go hard on her.

“Hold on a second,” Natasha said, turning to look for something in her bag.

Jared’s jaw was tight, and he stared at her, totally clueless about what she wanted him to wait for.

Natasha quickly pulled out the beautifully wrapped gift box from her bag and held it out to Jared.

“I got this for you,” she said.

Jared looked at the gift box Natasha suddenly handed him, his face full of surprise.

“What’s this?” he asked.

Natasha explained, “You gave me that gemstone necklace before, so I wanted to get you something too.”

Jared never expected to receive a gift in return from Natasha at all.
