Natasha was disappointed.

What really stung was that she’d just wasted her money.

If she’d known she wasn’t going to get a night with Jared, she never would’ve sent the money up front.

Natasha felt like he’d totally played her for a fool.

But she couldn’t exactly point at him and accuse him of not letting her sleep with him.

“No!” Natasha said sharply.

“I’m fine. You can go now!” she said.

‘How am I supposed to look him in the eye after this?’ she thought.

But after a long moment, there was still no sign of movement from him.

Natasha hesitated, then peeked her head out from under the blanket.

To her shock, Jared was still sitting right there on the couch by her bed.

“Why are you still here?” Natasha blinked in surprise, staring at him in confusion.

She looked at him, totally confused.

Natasha thought, ‘Is he seriously thinking about letting me sleep with him now?

‘The effects of the drug are gone. I don’t need him for that anymore.’

Jared locked his eyes on her, his voice gentle and reassuring. “Go to sleep. I’m not going anywhere.”

Natasha stared at him in disbelief.

Natasha’s mind was spinning. ‘Wait, is he really not leaving? Is he actually going to stay here with me all night?

“Wait, there’s more?’ Natasha thought, feeling a bit lost.

Natasha spoke up, her voice barely above a whisper. “Since nothing actually happened between us, what about the 30 grand I sent you…”

She knew it was totally the wrong time to bring up the money, but she couldn’t help herself.

To him, 30 grand was barely a blip, but for her, it was a serious hit to her wallet.

Natasha almost blurted out, “But I didn’t even get my night with you!”

Jared locked eyes with her, a teasing smile on his lips. “Alright, since you’re so obsessed with ‘buying a night with me,’ I won’t let your money go to waste. Once you’re feeling better, I’ll let you sleep with me for real.”

Natasha’s eyes flew open, completely floored.

She thought, ‘Did I seriously just hear that?

‘He actually said he’d let me sleep with him?’

All she really wanted was to get back the 30 grand she’d sent him last night.

Natasha took a deep breath. “It’s not just about that slap. Roxanne’s been trying to dig up dirt on me and my mom for years, just so she can throw us out of the Whittier family.”

That slap was just the spark that set everything off.

Joelle was Roxanne’s pride and joy. There was no way she’d let Natasha off.

So Roxanne had Frank drug Natasha, all to destroy her.

If Jared hadn’t stepped in last night, Roxanne would’ve totally gotten her way.

Thinking about it, Natasha had to admit she was actually grateful to Jared.

But honestly, he’d had her running in circles all night.
