Chapter 6 Quitting Before She Fucked Him Blind

Natasha stiffened in surprise.

Natasha’s eye twitched in disbelief. ‘Did he seriously just promote me to executive assistant? Is this some twisted setup to watch me fail?’

“Sir, I’ve never done assistant work. I really don’t think I can handle it,” Natasha replied, her knee-jerk reaction being to refuse him.

The truth was, her mind was already completely consumed by the desperate, filthy urge to get naked and ride him.

‘If I take this promotion and have to stare at him every single day, how the hell am I supposed to keep my legs shut?’ she fretted.

Jared pinned her with a dark, intense stare. “You got a problem with a promotion?”

Natasha nervously licked her full, red lips. “I just think-”

Jared cut her off cold. “Who’s the CEO here? You or me?”

The polite, professional smile on Natasha’s face froze. “You are, obviously.”

“Then go back and hand off your current projects,” Jared ordered, his tone leaving zero room for argument. “Report to the executive suite tomorrow morning.”

“But…” Natasha swallowed hard, biting back her words.

Panic flared in her chest. ‘Isn’t he terrified I’m going to jump his bones?

‘What if I lose all my self-control, strip him naked, and fuck his brains out?’

A flash of irritation crossed Jared’s dangerously handsome face. “If you don’t want the job, quit.”

Natasha was left speechless. She finally gave a stiff nod. “Got it.”

Assuming that was a yes, Jared dismissed her with a single glance and strode back to his massive leather chair, diving straight back into his work.

Natasha retreated to her own department. She completely ignored her manager Frank’s snarky probing and the nosy stares

of her coworkers.

Sitting at her desk, she immediately fired up her computer and started typing her resignation letter.

The agonizing heat throbbing between her thighs finally started to cool down at the thought of leaving the company entirely.

“Hey Natasha, why did Mr. Rundell call you in there alone? Does he want to get in your pants?” Dorothy leaned over the cubicle partition, her eyes sparkling with juicy gossip.

“Oh, please. He’s a billionaire CEO. Why would he look twice at a plain Jane like me?” Natasha shot back, keeping her fingers flying across the keyboard.

“Plain Jane? Are you kidding me?” Dorothy scoffed loudly. “I’ve thrown out at least twenty bouquets of roses from your secret admirers just this month.

“With a gorgeous face and a killer body like yours, it wouldn’t be a shocker if he took one look and fell in love with you.”

‘Fall in love with me?’ Natasha’s typing stuttered to a halt as her heart skipped a beat. ‘If the CEO really did want me right off the bat, does that mean I’d actually get a chance to screw him senseless?

Natasha’s cheeks burned scarlet as she vigorously shook her head to clear the filthy fantasies.

“That’s impossible. Stop making wild guesses and do your work,” she deflected.

Forcing herself to focus, she finished drafting her resignation and hit send. It routed straight to the HR Director’s inbox right before the clock struck five.

Natasha then grabbed a box and started packing up, fully intending to take all her personal belongings home tonight.

Just then, Frank dropped a massive stack of folders onto her desk with a slimy, fake smile. “You’re pulling overtime tonight. Handle all of these.”

Natasha glared at the towering pile of paperwork. She didn’t even have to ask to know Frank was just finding another excuse to make her life a living hell.

He had been taking bribes from Roxanne to purposely “discipline” her.

In the two years Natasha had worked under him, doing forced, unpaid overtime was the norm.

The fact that Jared had personally called her into his office today had clearly triggered Frank’s petty jealousy.

But if he thought she was going to roll over and be his little corporate slave like always, he was dead wrong.

“Mr. Hammers, it’s past five. Sorry, but I’m off the clock,” Natasha fired back coldly.

Frank stared at her in sheer disbelief. He never expected the usually submissive Natasha to actually grow a spine. “Don’t think that just because the CEO gave you five minutes of his time, you can suddenly disrespect your manager! I run this department. If you dare to openly defy me, I’ll fire your ass. Try me!” Frank snarled, his face twisting ugly with fury.

Natasha just gave him an icy, dismissive look. “Then fire me.”

Without another word, she picked up her box and walked straight out of the office.

Frank’s enraged screaming echoed down the hallway behind her, but she couldn’t care less.

Instead of heading straight to her apartment, Natasha aimlessly wandered the city streets, her mind entirely somewhere else.

Given the time, Percy probably wasn’t even home yet.

Throughout their one year of marriage, they practically lived separate lives. They barely even ate dinner together.

In the beginning, Natasha just assumed Percy was naturally cold and still adjusting to being tied down.

But now, the harsh truth was glaringly obvious. His heart and his bed just didn’t belong to her.

After grabbing some takeout by herself, Natasha got back to the house late.

To her surprise, Percy still wasn’t home. Usually, no matter how much he hated looking at her, he would walk through the front door by nine o’clock.

She checked her phone, her anxiety spiking. ‘It’s almost eleven. Where the hell is he?’

She tossed and turned on the living room sofa, agonizing over it before finally gathering the courage to dial his number.

The phone rang forever before he finally picked up. “Yeah? Who is this?”

“It’s me,” Natasha said, her expression instantly falling.

A knot formed in her stomach as the realization hit. ‘He hasn’t even saved my number. Is this a joke?’

They had been married for a whole year, and her own husband didn’t even have his wife in his contacts.

“What do you want?” Percy’s tone turned ice-cold the second he recognized her voice.

“It’s getting really late. When do you think you’ll be back?” Natasha asked cautiously.

There was a stunned silence on the other end of the line.

After a long pause, he gave a single, impatient grunt. “Yeah.”

Her brow furrowed in confusion. ‘Yeah? What the hell does ‘yeah’ mean? I asked when he was coming home!’

Natasha was about to repeat her question, but the line went dead. The cold beeping of the dial tone filled her ear.

She stared at her screen, her lips pressed into a tight line. ‘Did he seriously just hang up on me?

‘I am just trying to be a good wife and check on my husband who is out late. Why is he always such an impatient prick?’

Deciding not to wait up any longer, Natasha headed straight to the bathroom for a hot shower and climbed into bed.

It was nearly midnight, and Percy was still a no-show.

Because of that, her sleep was incredibly restless, plagued by an endless stream of nightmares.

One minute she dreamed Frank was making her life a living hell at the corporate office, and the next, Percy was slapping her with divorce papers so he could marry her sister, Joelle.
