Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies novel Chapter 386

The nurse rushed out of the emergency room to bring more water. As soon as she stepped out, Lu Jingguo and the rest rushed to question her.

"Is he alright?"

"You will be able to save him, right?"

"What’s going on?"

"Is there something that we can do?"

"For now, you all need to step aside," the nurse replied angrily. She said to Bai Feng and his team, "This is a crucial moment; please don’t disrupt us or else things will get troublesome. It’s bad enough that you didn’t take care of him when he was injured; now you are stopping us from treating him."

After she finished speaking, she asked Bai Meiyue to pour more water into the clean containers. Once the container was filled, the nurse turned around on her feet and hurried back inside, leaving Tan Jiu’s team members to stand outside with flushed expressions.

They were not angry when they were scolded, as they knew that the nurse was in the right. In their hurry to know about the condition of their team member, they completely forgot that this was not the time for them to stop the nurses and the doctors from doing their jobs.

"What happened?" Bai Meiyue looked at Bai Feng and questioned. "Weren’t you helping the soldiers in clearing up the zombies? How come your team member ended up getting injured like this?"

Bai Feng turned to look at her, though there was a hint of reproach in his eyes; Bai Meiyue was not worried. She simply arched a brow and said to him, "What? Did I say something wrong?" Who was this man staring at? Did he think that she would get scared of him?

"One of the survivors pushed him out," Bai Feng replied after a long pause. His lips were barely moving as he recalled the cruelty of the survivors who were living with them. From the day he had taken those survivors under his care, Bai Feng had never expected anything from them.

He just hoped that they would live peacefully and not cause any more trouble for them.

Who would have expected that they would do such a thing? They actually pushed Tan Jiu down the stairs when the latter refused to hand them the supplies. For the sake of a few catties of flour and rice, they discarded Tan Jiu’s life and death.

By the time they managed to save Tan Jiu, he had been beaten and stabbed until he was almost dead.

Just thinking about it made Bai Feng’s blood boil. What was wrong with these people!?

Though he didn’t explain in detail, Bai Meiyue understood the gist of the situation. She curled her lips in a mocking smile and said to the man, "It seems like all that kindness was fed to dogs, eh?"

Once they were done, Shen Zhen staggered out of the emergency room. Seeing her condition, Bai Meiyue walked forward and then took the woman in her arms.

"Are you alright?" She asked when she saw Shen Zhen’s condition.

"I am fine." Shen Zhen wiped the sweat off her forehead and turned to look at Lu Jingguo and the rest of the team. "He is fine for the time being, but you need to be careful. For the next six months, don’t make him do any heavy work or else he will become paralysed."

As soon as she finished speaking, everyone in Bai Feng’s team breathed a sigh of relief.

"Thank you, thank you. I don’t know how to thank you. Thank you."

Seeing that Tan Jiu’s life was not in danger, Lu Jingguo was immediately filled with gratitude. He turned to look at Bai Meiyue and said to her sincerely, "Miss Bai, we have nothing good, but we can’t take advantage of you and your team. So, please take these crystal nuclei."

His attitude was really good while expressing his gratitude.

Lu Jingguo was indeed a sly man, but he was naturally good towards those whom he considered his own. He was really scared when he saw Tan Jiu’s wounds. Fortunately, Bai Meiyue didn’t hold any grudges and saved his life or else!
