Bai Meiyue pursed her lips and suppressed the worries in her heart. She knew that this was not the time for her to worry about Lei Qian. Turning to look at the two women behind her, she softly said to them, "Don’t worry about the food resources. We will arrange them somehow. For the moment, just try to make this place habitable." Bai Meiyue was not worried about food. She had the barter system with her, and she could always arrange something for the team members to eat.
After Bai Meiyue’s reminder, Meng Suisui and Shen Zhen went to look for blankets, water bottles and other things. The first thing they did was to look in the winter section, but they found nothing, as the survivors had taken everything away from this section because of the terrifying winters that happened earlier.
Sighing, Meng Suisui turned on her feet and then headed to the third floor, where she found a few blankets that could be used. At least they were cleaner than the ones that she found in the room where the workers used to stay in the past. She returned to the tenth floor and then placed the blankets on a rather soft couch that Bai Meiyue could use and said to her, "You rest here. Although the couches are soft, they are not as soft as the mattresses at home. Just try to make do with them at the moment."
"I will be fine," said Bai Meiyue as she sat down on the neatly arranged couch. She then said to Meng Suisui, "Don’t worry about me. I know that the arrangements are limited, and the situation is not that good. Of course, I will not make things difficult for you and Shen Zhen."
While the two of them were talking, Shen Zhen returned with four backpacks. She sat down on the floor and started to organise the things that she had brought back with her. These backpacks contained supplies for three of them. Toothpaste, brushes, towels, soaps, facewashes and some change of clothes.
She also handed the steamed buns that Bai Meiyue had brought with her to Meng Suisui and Bai Meiyue. These steamed buns were what Mother Bai had given to Bai Meiyue. In every world, no matter what the time, a mother would never let their child leave without bringing some food. Even if they were just going out of the house for a few hours. After all, the worries of a mother’s heart could never ease. Thus, there were more than a hundred steamed buns stuffed in a backpack along with a few packets of biscuits, snacks and dried seafood.
Shen Zhen pulled her own bag and then started to take out the tiffin box as well as the snacks that she had brought with her. As for Meng Suisui, she was more of a spice lover. Thus, she brought more than twenty packs of spicy beef jerky, ramen and crispy rice noodles.
In another backpack, Shen Zhen had brought disinfectants and portable medical equipment.
