Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground novel Chapter 1093

Chapter 1093 First Fight

Atticus's figure silently descended from the skies, landing on the Ravenstein estate grounds. The instant his feet touched the earth, his form blurred, vanishing from sight before reappearing in front of his advanced training room.

He ignored the sounds and pulses of battle coming from Magnus's training chamber and entered his own without a second thought. With a flick of his fingers, he sealed the room, locking it off completely. No noise. No interruptions.

His expression was serious as he stepped to the center of the room. Then, he closed his eyes.

And he stood there.

He didn't move. Didn't speak. Didn't even blink. Just stood.

From the outside, he looked calm, too calm. But within, a storm raged through his mind, thoughts clashing intensely.

Minutes passed like this and still, Atticus didn't move.

Until…

Light ignited in his chest. Then, the figure of Ozeroth took form before him, and his face morphed into a frown.

"Bond," he said.

But Atticus didn't answer.

"Bond," Ozeroth repeated, more sharply this time.

Still nothing.

Ozeroth's frown deepened as he stepped closer, placing both hands on Atticus's shoulders. Then—

"BONDDDDDD!"

The force of his shout blew Atticus's silky hair back, and he felt a wet splatter of spit hit his cheek.

Atticus winced. His eyes snapped open, locking onto Ozeroth.

He could feel something wet on his face.

"What?" he muttered with a frown.

A thin wisp of smoke rose from his cheek as the spit evaporated against the heat radiating from his skin.

Ozeroth crossed his arms. "What do you mean, 'what'? What the hell's got you so on edge?"

Atticus's brows furrowed. "We were literally there together. Or did you want to pretend you didn't hear everything Whisker said?"

"So?" Ozeroth scoffed. "You're thinking too much. Don't worry, Bond. When they come, we'll crush them!"

But Atticus's frown only deepened. "This isn't the time for your delusions. There's too much at stake. We can't afford to make any mistakes."

Ozeroth's expression dropped.

"You're being too much, Bond."

"Too much?" Atticus snapped. "I don't think you realize the gravity of what we just found out. If you could step out of your self-centered world for just a second, you'd see the implications."

Ozeroth's eyes narrowed. He said nothing.

Seeing this, Atticus shook his head and closed his eyes again, his thoughts spiraling, faster and deeper. The storm in his mind appeared once more.

Ozeroth went silent for a few seconds before finally speaking.

"Bond… you know what the greatest quality to have as a warrior is?"

He didn't wait for a response. "It's the ability to stay calm. No matter the situation. It's an invaluable trait. Because when you lose your shit the moment things get dire, how do you expect to overcome it?"

Atticus opened his eyes just as Ozeroth kept speaking.

"What would you rather I do?" he said. "Cry? Wallow like a fucking coward? That's not gonna happen. I might be physically weaker than many… but in this entire world, there's no one worthy enough to bring down my pride."

"Not that again!" Ozeroth groaned. "This time I have proof!"

He raised his hand, channeling the same technique Atticus had used to show the human domain his memories. A floating screen of light appeared, replaying the scene of Atticus hugging him.

"See?! Just look at how you were looking at me! The gayness is written all over your face."

Atticus burst out laughing. "Now who's being too much? Didn't you just give a speech about staying calm?"

Ozeroth clicked his tongue again. "I am calm! I'm just… passionate. So my voice is a little loud."

Atticus shook his head slowly, staring at his absurd spirit. "Right…"

The moment he said that, Ozeroth erupted. "What do you mean 'right'? You're saying it like I'm lying! I am calm! Just because I don't sit around brooding like some edge lord doesn't mean—"

But Atticus only laughed, loud and unbothered, completely amused by the situation. The more Ozeroth tried to defend himself, the harder he laughed.

Eventually, everything settled. The air quieted. They both ended up sitting on the floor, and the earlier tension was gone.

Atticus sent a sideways glance toward Ozeroth.

He was still talking, ranting, really, about how great he was. About how any threat coming their way should just go ahead and surrender already. Atticus didn't interrupt. He just smiled.

He was genuinely grateful for this… his prideful bond.

Soon enough, the joking stopped, and the mood shifted. The lightness was replaced by something heavier.

They both knew it was time to discuss.

Atticus exhaled. "Now… what do we do?"

Ozeroth leaned back, arms behind his head. "Aside from crushing whoever comes our way?"

Atticus chuckled. "Of course…"
