’The veil is dropping, Supreme Ruler!’
Oberon’s panicked voice rang through his mind. Atticus froze, snapping his gaze to the side as he met Whisker’s suddenly sharp stare.
"Time?" Whisker asked.
Atticus nodded silently.
"We’ll continue this later."
Whisker vanished a moment later, leaving Atticus alone with his thoughts.
’That man is very shameless.’
The Arbiter muttered, sounding almost baffled.
’I second that.’
Atticus closed his eyes and let his awareness spread out, blanketing the entirety of Eldoralth.
His armies were stretched across three separate fronts, and there was no telling what kind of enemies each bordering territory would unleash.
The next few seconds were tense across the whole world, as everyone waited in silence while the veils began to descend, revealing the endless armies gathered beyond.
Suddenly, on the first two fronts, streaks of light surged into Eldoralth.
’Abyss and Redflames.’
Atticus vanished from the sky and reappeared above the first front. Below him were some of the Eldorians and resistance leaders, with Anorah at their center.
His gaze settled on the red flame god who hovered some distance away from Anorah and the others.
"People of Eldoralth!"
The red flame’s voice echoed across the vast stretches of the territory.
"I am Burnblade Hector, a Duke of the esteemed Redflames! You have sinned against us, against the Redflames themselves! I am here to deliver judgment. Bring your god, Atticus Ravenstein, to his knees and surrender yourselves, or face the true might of the Redflames!"
A deathlike silence followed for several seconds, and Hector’s expression soon darkened when no response came.
"So be it!" he roared. "I declare my intention to capture this territory. Attack!"
The Redflame army surged forward behind him with their weapons blazing. Seeing this, Hector smirked, preparing to move, when a flash of light streaked through the sky.
"Hm!?"
His vision tilted violently. A moment later, he caught sight of his own body plummeting downward just beside him.
’W-what...?’
This was infact his body, but why was there no head... his eyes flew wide.
’H-how...?’
Now he understood the truth. He had been beheaded!
The Redflame glanced down toward his army instantly, only for his heart to seize.
’What... what is this...?’
The radiant, overwhelming force he’d brought with him was gone. In its place, the vast land below was drowned in blood, billions of severed limbs strewn across it as agonized screams rose endlessly into the sky.
The Redflame god struggled to process what he was seeing. But his thoughts froze as a heavy presence pressed down on him from above, forcing his gaze upward until he finally fixed his eyes on a lone figure hovering in the sky.
’I-it’s him...’
The same child the entire Middle Planes had watched during the Ascension Games. The one who had humiliated the Redflames time and time again.
’Is he... is he the one responsible?’
Fear surged through him, and his body beginning to tremble uncontrollably.
One second. Not even a full second had passed, and they had lost.
’He’s a monster.’
Darkness swallowed his vision the next moment as his severed head struck the ground.

"This humiliation will not go unanswered!"
