Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground novel Chapter 1624

Chapter 1624: Cut

Squelch.

Atticus’ blade cut through Joan’s neck in one swift motion, spraying golden blood across the earth. Even as the butler’s head fell to the ground, his eyes still trembled in shock.

’Shit!’

Atticus staggered and fell to his knees, clutching his head as a stabbing pain tore through his mind. It felt as though millions of razor-sharp pins were constantly stabbing his mind.

’Hold... on...’

Atticus gritted his teeth, fighting through the agonizing pain. It was only after a full long minute passed that the pain subsided enough for him to catch his breath.

Breathing raggedly, Atticus wiped the sweat that had soaked his forehead, fixing his eyes on the severed corpse of the butler lying before him.

’It worked...’

It still felt unbelievable even as he stared directly at the result. What he had just done could only be described as world ending.

Atticus had always wondered why he was able to control other will types simply through exposure, but this had made everything clear.

The element was the origin of all things in the universe, everything. Even the absolute force that was will.

To possess absolute control over the elements was to possess absolute control over all their substrates. It was to possess absolute control over the world itself.

Atticus felt a strange sensation coursing through his body. It was as though his bloodline was reacting to this deeper comprehension.

’But it’s too draining.’

Simply canceling the butler’s will had left him in this terrible condition. Atticus released a slow breath. His will was nearly exhausted, and even moving felt difficult.

’Pathetic. You can’t even endure this much?’

’I don’t have time for this.’

Atticus waved his arm dismissively, as though brushing the arbiter aside.

’Is this how you thank your master for saving you? Hmph. I see you weren’t taught how to show appreciation.’

’...Thank you.’

’...’

She fell silent, clearly caught off guard.

’Ahem. It was nothing... I simply did as— Student.’

The arbiter’s tone suddenly turned serious.

’I know.’

Atticus’ expression grew cold as he fixed his gaze ahead, where a lone figure wearing a faceless mask stood motionless, staring directly at him. A Willguard

’This feeling.’

Atticus clutched his chest, sensing that faint, familiar pull. There was only one group of people capable of provoking such a reaction from him.

Fragment bearers.

’Come.’

A tremor ran through Atticus’ chest before erupting outward in a blanket of black ink that wrapped tightly around his body, a red shroud blazing across his face.

Atticus’ eyes ignited with purple light as he slipped into Logoth and invoked Solvath’s power.

He howled forward, erasing the distance as his katana thrust forward like a bolt of lightning.

"...!" 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

The willguard’s eyes widened in alarm, and he hastily drew his blade as purple light converged onto the weapon just as Atticus’ thrust collided with it in an explosion of blinding brilliance.

Atticus barely registered the violent shockwave crashing against him as his figure blurred, unleashing a relentless storm of thrusts and slashes.

The willguard struggled desperately to keep up, forced backward as multiple strikes grazed his body and drew blood.

Panic filled his eyes as he desperately gathered Solvath’s power onto his blade and swung downward with everything he had, but his expression froze as Atticus vanished from sight.

He swept down in a whirl, driving the willguard into the ground as his katana plunged downward in an absolute thrust.

"W-wait! Wait! Don’t kill me! I’m not your enemy!"

"...?"

Atticus’ blade halted, but his eyes remained cold even as the willguard quickly removed her mask, revealing the face of a beautiful woman.

"Remember me? I was there... at the battle of Asterra. The fragment bearer the sentinel took with him."

The woman released a shaky sigh of relief, as though grateful that Atticus had stopped his blade, but froze as the edge of his katana pressed lightly against her neck.

"So?"

"...Huh?"

Atticus’ voice was ice cold, devoid of the slightest fluctuation, and the woman began to tremble as his killing intent seeped into her.

"Wait—wait!"

As though finally realizing her situation, she hurriedly shook her head and waved her hands.

"The willguard are planning something on your territory! I can help you!"

"..."

Atticus stared at her in silence for a moment before slowly retracting his blade.

"Whew... I really thought I was dead..."

Breathing out in relief, the woman attempted to rise, only to freeze as Atticus raised his katana and pointed it directly at her.

"Strip."

"...what?"

At Atticus’ silent, unmoved stare, the woman’s eyes widened, and she immediately crossed her arms over her chest protectively.

"W-what are you saying!? Are you some kind of... pervert!?"

"..."

Silence lingered for a moment before Atticus’ katana blurred, streaks of silver flashing around her.

Her clothes were torn cleanly from her body in the next instant, leaving her standing in nothing but her underwear.

"Hiah!"

The woman screamed, desperately trying to cover herself, but Atticus paid her no attention as his gaze moved across her body.

’On her arms.’

Just as he expected, ancient-looking tattoos were etched across her left arm.

"My body... my beautiful body... how am I supposed to get married now? How could you do this to me..."

Another streak flashed.

A heavy thud echoed as the woman’s severed arm struck the ground.

"W-what...?"
