Chapter 1645: Fool

Bam.

The High Judicator frowned deeply as a sentinel came rushing into his office.

"What is it?"

The sentinel dropped to his knees as the man’s heavy gaze bore down on him.

"My apologies, High Judicator... A fight between two Nature Spawn has broken out in Lexis."

"What?"

The High Judicator’s eyes narrowed.

He had been too focused on the current matter that he had momentarily diverted his attention away from the territory.

He spread out his awareness, and his eyes widened.

The first presence belonged to Eldros, whom he had only encountered moments ago. But it was the second that caused the greatest shock.

"Whisker Von Pounce..."

The High Judicator murmured the name under his breath.

The disgrace of the Nature Faction. The one who had once attempted to assassinate the Nature King. The Nature Faction had been searching for the man for centuries now.

However, none of that mattered to the High Judicator.

He had watched the Verge Games. He had even witnessed the Resource Wars at the Core. There wasn’t a soul in the Span who didn’t know who Whisker had chosen to stand beside.

The High Judicator’s eyes began to radiate a golden light as the air around him grew heavy.

"Atticus Ravenstein."

How had he entered the domain without detection? How long had he been hiding within the territory?

The High Judicator slowly shook his head.

’It doesn’t matter.’

What mattered right now was that that man was their only lead to finding Atticus.

He pinned the sentinel with a crushing gaze.

"Mobilize the Willguard. Every available unit. I want him captured alive."

"Yes, High Judicator."

The sentinel bowed deeply before immediately leaving the room.

The High Judicator’s eyes remained fierce as he stared at the empty air before him.

Somehow, there was a faint heaviness in his chest, and he couldn’t shake the strange feeling that something had slipped past his notice.

...

Atticus suddenly halted and turned to stare into the distant expanse.

Around him, he could feel the narrowed gazes of Azeron and the other Evoli. Thora, who had been glaring at Thomas at the rear, also turned toward him with a sharp, alert look.

The Evoli elder frowned.

"Did something happen?"

Atticus remained silent for several seconds, squinting toward the direction where the main city of the Willguard stood.

’What was that?’

He had felt a faint disturbance brush against his senses from that direction. It was the sort of ripple one felt when a powerful existence unleashed their strength.

Someone had just released an immense amount of power. But what made Atticus pause wasn’t that fact.

It was the familiarity of the sensation.

He clenched his fists.

’Whisker.’

Suddenly, the low hum of countless airships reached their ears.

Atticus and the others snapped their heads toward the sky, where an armada of Willguard airships rose from their base and surged toward the city.

"Did someone else escape?" Thora asked with a frown.

Beside her, Thomas also stared at the departing airships with a tense expression.

The Evoli elder remained silent for a moment before turning to Atticus.

"Whatever just happened, this might be our chance."

With the Willguard’s attention diverted elsewhere, there would be no better time to strike. Even the other Evoli nodded in agreement.

When Atticus said nothing, the elder frowned.

"What do you think?"

Atticus didn’t seem to hear any of their words as he remained deep in thought.

’What do I do?’

They stood at the bottom of the hill, barely a mile from the Willguard headquarters. Their target.

Attacking while the Willguard were distracted would give them their best chance at neutralizing the secret weapon and completing the mission.

But Atticus had no doubt that it was Whisker he had felt.

If he had sensed something like that, then the Domain God was definitely aware of Whisker’s presence.

The entire Willguard would converge on him.

The image of Whisker’s carefree smile appeared in his mind, and Atticus clicked his tongue in irritation.

’Stupid fool.’

He was beating the crap out of Whisker once this was over.

He turned to address Azeron and the others.

"There’s been a change of plans. You’ll proceed with the attack on the base without me. There’s something I need to take care of."

The Evoli elder furrowed his brows.

"What—"

Before he could finish, Atticus had already turned toward the direction of the city.

In the next moment, the aura he had restrained until now erupted from his body and flooded the land like a geyser.

The elder. The Evoli. Thora. Thomas.

Every single one of them found themselves unable to move.

Atticus vanished in the next instant, tearing across the terrain in a streak of light.

The time for hiding was over.

...

Eldros had met many mad people in his life.

Strange people.

Growing up among individuals who were considered maniacs throughout the entire Middle Plane, even he had turned somewhat mad himself.

But he had never seen anyone more insane than the man standing before him now. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
