Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground novel Chapter 1662

Chapter 1662: Tower

Grief. Rage. Vengeance. Betrayal. Injustice. Loneliness. Resolve.

They were each emotions expressed by Solvath. However, the emotions had manifested in Atticus’ image, embodying him.

To defeat them, he had to confront each of the emotions he had been suppressing for years now.

Grief, that even after everything, he had still lost his people.

Rage. The urge to abandon control and burn the world after everything it had done to him.

Vengeance, the need to repay everyone who had ever wronged him.

Betrayal, those who had broken his trust.

Injustice, the sheer unfairness of the world.

Loneliness, with his power and the burdens he carried, he had pushed people away.

Resolve, the purpose that refused to let him stop.

It was hard. In some ways, harder than his battle with the weapon where he had almost lost his life.

However, Atticus accepted every single emotion, silently watching as each clone faded out of existence.

Not long after, he approached the tower in the middle of the forest. The seven holes on the door that had earlier been empty were now radiating a soft purple light.

As Atticus drew closer, the door suddenly flared with a bright light.

As it dimmed, he found himself staring into the abyssal darkness within the tower.

He exhaled slowly. Every trace of tension left his body.

Solvath’s power coursed through him, sending waves of emotion rippling, yet his eyes remained unnervingly still.

None of it moved him. Not anymore.

With a calm expression, he stepped forward, swallowed entirely by the darkness.

A moment later, a flood of light struck his eyes.

However, Atticus didn’t even so much as flinch. His gaze remained steady, grip firm on his katana as he carefully scanned his surroundings.

’A room.’

The room was large and enclosed. He couldn’t find any visible light source, yet it was brightly lit.

There was a long table along the wall beside him, with ten orbs of varying colors arranged neatly apart.

’They’re different.’

Not just in color, but in energy as well. Atticus could faintly feel each of them even from where he stood.

He narrowed his eyes slightly, then shifted his focus to scan the rest of the room.

It wasn’t long before he found a large gap splitting the room in two. A thin metal pole linked both sides, with a yawning drop below.

Atticus couldn’t see its depth, only endless darkness.

There was no doubt what would happen if he fell.

He stared at the metal pole. He was clearly meant to use it to get to the other side, but was that really all there was to it? What about the orbs... the energy?

As always, the katana offered no instructions. Atticus was walking blind here. He had overcome all the clones and his emotions.

As far as he knew, that was all he needed to overcome Solvath.

So what was the purpose of this tower?

Exhaling lightly, Atticus continued scanning the room for any sort of clue.

A moment later, he stepped to the edge of the gap, narrowing his eyes at what he could make out as small holes on the opposite wall.

’One, two... ten. There’s ten.’

Atticus shifted his gaze back toward the ten orbs laid out on the table, his expression turning thoughtful.

Ten orbs. Ten holes. It was clear.

Atticus approached the table and studied the orbs. They were less like solid objects and more like countless interwoven strands of energy.

After a few moments, he realized he had never encountered any of this energy before.

Some behaved like elements, yet were intrinsically different. They resembled mana, but of an entirely different nature.

Atticus stretched his arm toward one. When his hand passed through it without resistance, he frowned and drew it back.

He couldn’t touch them. They were unfamiliar energies, and as such, beyond his control.

Then how the hell was he supposed to get them to the other side of the room?

’Hmm.’

Atticus’ gaze settled on his arm, a thought forming in his mind.

If the sixth trial revolved around Solvath, then it was safe to assume that everything here fell within that domain.

Accepting his emotions had granted him access to Solvath’s power.

Then perhaps this was meant to teach him how to use it.

’Primordial Star of Harmony.’

For harmony to exist, different things had to exist first... before they could be brought together.

And before that, he had to be able to control those different things individually. In this case, ten distinct energies.

Atticus stared at the orbs for a moment, then gave a small nod. It was worth a try. He raised his arm above one and closed his eyes.

He reached deep within himself, calling upon Solvath’s power. A surge of emotion tore through him, but nothing stirred his composure.

A moment later, he opened his eyes.
