Aurora Walton and Lucas Carter novel Chapter 1590

“Besides, you’ve already told me all this before. How could I not know?” Aurora said with a small smile.

“If you keep explaining the same thing over and over, I’ll start feeling sorry for how much energy you’re wasting.”

Lucas replied softly, “I just want to give you a sense of security. All those women online—I don’t care about any of them.”

Aurora sighed, her tone a mix of amusement and helplessness.

“Even if you don’t care, they’ll still throw themselves at you one after another. You’re the symbol of power, Lucas.

“You’ve got wealth and looks. Do you really think they wouldn’t want to tie you to themselves?”

Lucas fell silent, unsure how to respond. After a moment, he said firmly, “Don’t worry. No matter what happens, I’ll always stand by your side.”

“That’s all I need to hear,” Aurora replied gently. “As long as I know where you stand.”

Then she added, “You don’t need to bother with what’s happening online. Just let it run its course. I already told the director that I’d make sure nothing unexpected happens with the show.

“People can say whatever they want. I won’t take their gossip seriously. My life is my own, and how I live it is my choice. No one’s words can change that.”

Lucas agreed completely with her calm, measured approach. “Alright, then I won’t have Desmond handle it. We’ll just let it be.”

“Exactly,” Aurora said, unconcerned. “If anything, the noise online will only bring more attention to the show. It’s free publicity.”

But if someone insisted on standing in her way, she saw no reason to be polite. She understood perfectly well that kindness often invited trouble.

With that, both she and Lucas agreed not to concern themselves with what was happening online.

The director later brought up the issue with her too, but Aurora’s answer was the same.

“Mr. Smith, don’t you think all this has actually brought more attention to our show?”

The director paused, momentarily stunned, then nodded as the realization sank in. “You know, Miss Walton, I hadn’t even thought of it that way until you mentioned it.”

Aurora smiled lightly. “Exactly. So why bother getting involved? I don’t care about what people say. As long as I know what Lucas and I have, that’s all that matters. The rest of the noise. I don’t take it to heart.”
