Aurora Walton and Lucas Carter novel Chapter 1593

To Megan, the world suddenly felt like vast and chaotic like a maze of deception and heartbreak.

She sat frozen, torn between loyalty and conscience.

On one side was her friend, on the other her cousin, and this time, her cousin had clearly crossed the line.

No matter how she looked at it, she couldn’t justify what he’d done.

If it were something minor, she might have helped smooth things over, but this was a matter of principle.

There was no covering it up.

Just as she wrestled with whether to tell Aurora the truth, a sudden knock startled her.

Megan nearly dropped her phone as she scrambled to hide it.

“Who is it?” she called nervously.

“Megan, it’s me. Do you know what time it is? We’re about to start filming,” came Aurora’s gentle voice from outside.

Megan blinked, snapping back to reality.

She’d completely lost track of time. The shock from what she’d seen earlier had left her dazed for far too long.

Aurora was already at her door.

She rushed to open it, and the moment she did, she was met with Aurora’s fresh, polished face.

The woman looked effortlessly radiant, every inch of her ready for the cameras.

Megan couldn’t help but feel a wave of admiration wash over her, being around Aurora always gave her that same sense of warmth and awe.

“You’re up so early,” she blurted out, a goofy grin tugging at her lips.

Aurora sighed softly, rubbing her temple. “Early? Look at the time. We’re already running late.”

She shook her head helplessly, clearly amused but exasperated.

Megan knew she deserved it. If this had been before, she would never have let something like this happen.

To her, Yvonne was already nothing short of a homewrecker, and it made her blood boil.

If Aurora could still endure this without flinching, Megan wasn’t sure whether to call it strength or foolish restraint.

The enemy was practically at her doorstep. How could she just stand there and do nothing?

Aurora noticed the conflicted look on her face and raised a brow. “You’re acting strange. Don’t tell me something new has happened online?”

“N-no! Of course not!” Megan blurted out, waving her hands too quickly, her voice an octave too high.

But her denial only made it more obvious. Her panic was written all over her face.

Aurora studied her quietly, narrowing her eyes. She knew Megan too well. Lying had never been her strong suit. Whenever she tried, her whole body betrayed her.

Seeing her flustered reaction, Aurora instantly understood. Something had happened again.

It must be something big. The storm online must have taken another turn.
