Aurora Walton and Lucas Carter novel Chapter 1832

Just as Yvonne said, he never needed a reason for anything he did.

If he wanted something, if he had the desire to take it, nothing could stop him.

“I’m sorry, sweetheart. I’ve failed you.”

The moment Michelle spoke, her voice broke.

She thought she was strong enough to say these things in front of her daughter.

But now it was clear she was still far too sensitive, anxious, and worn down inside.

Standing before Yvonne, she couldn’t hold herself together.

She didn’t feel like a good mother. She felt she had wronged her daughter.

Seeing Michelle like this made Yvonne’s chest tighten.

She remembered the conversation Michelle and her father had earlier.

They truly did love her.

And before all this, she had been the one overthinking things.

“Mom, you don’t need to feel guilty.”

Yvonne’s heart had already eased.

“I don’t think this is anyone’s fault. Maybe it’s just fate playing out the way it does.”

“But why should we believe in fate?”

Michelle lifted her head, eyes brimming with tears as she looked at her.

Yvonne still felt some bitterness and frustration, but she knew this wasn’t the moment to be willful.

At last, she sighed and nodded.

“But even if I refuse to believe in fate, would Edwin change his mind?”

Before Michelle could answer, Yvonne continued on her own.

“Of course he wouldn’t. He never changes. He’s always been someone who only follows his own will. Thinking otherwise is nothing but a joke.”

Yvonne couldn’t help telling Michelle, “So from now on, don’t trouble yourself over this anymore. What I need to do is focus on becoming stronger.”
