Aurora Walton and Lucas Carter novel Chapter 1874

When the others asked Grace how she planned to deal with Tessa, her gaze turned distant for a moment.

At those words, Tessa immediately began begging Grace for mercy.

“Mom, please let me go. I really didn’t mean it.”

Tessa sobbed, tears and mucus streaming down her face.

“I truly never thought things would turn out like this.”

“Then what exactly were you thinking?”

Hearing that, Grace found her almost laughable.

Things had already reached this point, yet Tessa still refused to admit her wrongdoing.

What would it take for her to finally acknowledge what she had done?

“I just listened to Dad,” Tessa said anxiously. “He said he’d stayed by your side all these years and wanted something in return.”

Her heart raced as she spoke, unsure how to explain everything clearly to Grace.

But she knew one thing very well—if Grace did not relent, the Waltons would never let her off.

She had already taken so many scattered shares from the family.

If they refused to let her go, those shares would be taken with her.

That was her bargaining chip.

But it was her final card, one she would not reveal unless she had no other choice.

“Did your father say all of this himself?”

“Of course he did,”

Tessa replied firmly. “Otherwise, how would I know about what happened between you and Dad?”

She slowly guided Grace’s thoughts. “Mom, think about it. I had never met him before. If he hadn’t come to me on his own, how could I have known who he was?”

Hearing this, Grace actually began to consider whether it might be true.

And just as Tessa said, she had never met her father before.
