Tessa took a deep breath and continued walking forward.
At this point, she and Grace had completely torn things apart.
If they ever met again, they would likely stand as enemies.
Just thinking about it made her chest ache.
She knew better than anyone that Grace had been by her side since childhood.
There had been no one else around her—Grace gave her the greatest care and protection she had ever known.
If she truly hardened her heart against Grace, she could not bring herself to do it.
Turning it over again and again in her mind, Tessa inevitably softened.
But from behind, Sean reminded her in a cold, sinister tone, “Don’t say I didn’t warn you beforehand. If you let sentimentality get in the way, the ones who lose in the end will be us.”
“I understand what you mean.”
Tessa lowered her gaze and replied obediently.
She knew very well that Sean was selfish to his core.
Because she understood this, she did not dare to act rashly.
Nor did she dare to go against him.
Even though she had not known Sean for long, she understood exactly what kind of person he was.
He was domineering to the extreme.
Otherwise, he would not have treated Grace this way.
He knew precisely what he wanted.
And because he understood that, he did not hesitate to strike at Grace.
In his eyes, Grace had already become an obstacle.
If he did not make the first move, then Grace would be the one to deal with him.
The thought sent a chill through Tessa.
If one day she became an obstacle to Sean as well, what would she do then?
For now, she could still help Sean deal with Grace.
And if later Sean chose to join forces with others to turn against her, what would she do then?
