Aurora lowered her head, holding firmly to her own thoughts.
“Even if we’re married, we should still give each other space.”
That had always been how Aurora saw things.
She did not think there was anything wrong with that.
After all, no matter what, the person she trusted most was Lucas.
She had not said any of this to anyone else.
But it was how she truly felt.
And for that reason, there were things she could tell Lucas without hesitation.
It was just that Lucas had not fully understood it yet.
He spoke seriously. “We should have space, yes. But what I hope more than anything is that if you’re ever in danger, I’m the first person you think of.”
“Of course it would be you.”
Aurora lifted her head and said it earnestly.
The words came out without a second thought.
Lucas noticed it instantly, the joy in his eyes impossible to hide.
He pulled her tightly into his arms. “Aurora, I really love you.”
“I want you to think of me when something happens. I want to be the one who has your back.”
“Don’t worry. You are my support now.”
Aurora said it sincerely.
She knew exactly what place Lucas held in her heart.
There was no need to draw lines or keep distance anymore, especially when Lucas was genuinely helping her.
There was nothing wrong with that because she understood this so clearly, Aurora cherished what they had even more.
She did not want to disrupt that balance.
Only when Lucas held her like this did he finally feel at ease.
