Aurora Walton and Lucas Carter novel Chapter 1916

“But I already said that Dad isn’t here today.”

As she spoke, Diana looked at Michelle. “Even if there’s tension between us right now, I wouldn’t lie to you about something like this.”

Hearing that, panic began to creep in.

Could it be that Philip had misled them?

But logically, with something this serious, how could he possibly lie to them?

Michelle still refused to believe it.

Unwilling to give up, she stepped forward and grabbed Diana’s sleeve.

“Please, think again. Are you sure he didn’t mention it? Did you just forgot?”

“Let go of me.”

Diana’s patience finally snapped.

Originally, she could have ignored all of this and spoken calmly.

But now, it was obvious the other side was deliberately stirring trouble.

If that was the case, why should she waste time entertaining them?

“We really do have urgent business with Mr. Carter Sr.”

As she spoke, Michelle’s voice had already taken on a sobbing edge.

She truly could not bear to imagine what would happen to her daughter without Philip.

Would her daughter be forced to remain entangled with that man forever?

If that were the case, wouldn’t her future be completely ruined?

The more Michelle thought about it, the more distressed she became.

Lucas frowned, sensing that something was not right.

The entire family had come together.

Under normal circumstances, this should have been something Yvonne handled alone.

But now, it clearly was not that simple.

“What exactly happened?”

When Lucas spoke, everyone instinctively turned to look at him.

Michelle understood the situation very clearly now.

They were the ones asking for help.

If her attitude became too forceful and the other side refused to help, what would they do then?

Charles grew anxious as well.

He even wanted to step forward and speak on Yvonne’s behalf.

But when his eyes met Lucas’, something felt off.

It was obvious Lucas wanted Yvonne to say it herself.

He did not want this matter spoken through someone else’s mouth.

In the end, under immense pressure, Yvonne still did not say it.

“I still want to wait for Mr. Carter Sr.”

For some reason, Yvonne was unusually insistent on this.

She felt that once she said it out loud, it would be the same as betraying Lucas.
