So that was something that wouldn’t change easily.
After thinking it through, Aurora felt puzzled.
Why would Yvonne come knocking on their door?
But Philip shook his head.
“I can’t say for sure either. When she came to see me, she only asked for one thing—she wanted me to persuade Edwin, to make him understand that she doesn’t like him.”
Hearing this, everyone present felt a quiet sense of disbelief.
No one expected the truth to turn out this way.
No wonder Yvonne had been so clear from the moment she stepped inside that she was here to see Philip.
In a matter like this, Philip really was the only one who could step in.
Anyone else simply couldn’t handle it.
After all, none of them had the right to interfere in Edwin’s marriage or personal happiness.
Thinking of this, Aurora touched the bridge of her nose awkwardly.
Lucas looked at Philip. “Then Grandpa, what did you say?”
He sighed. “These things have to be mutual. I can’t force anyone.”
Lucas nodded at that.
He agreed that it really was the only reasonable stance.
If the family tried to pressure Yvonne, what kind of outcome would that lead to?
Besides, he, Edwin, and Yvonne had practically grown up together.
He still couldn’t understand how Edwin had come to like Yvonne in the first place.
He had never noticed it before.
“Then when is he coming back?” Lucas asked.
Everyone knew exactly who he meant.
Other than his uncle, there was no one else.
Philip shook his head again.
“I don’t know when that wretched boy will show his face either. But now that Yvonne has come all the way here, if he still refuses to come back, this matter will never be resolved.”
“Dad, tell me, what are we supposed to do now?”
“You’re asking me? I should be asking you,” Sean snapped back.
He was just as frantic.
He hadn’t expected Grace to be this ruthless.
It had never crossed his mind before.
He always thought she was just joking with him.
After all, she had never sat him down to seriously talk about these things.
And even when he had children with other women, she had still helped raise them without complaint.
For the longest time, Sean believed Grace was the long-suffering, endlessly accommodating type.
That was exactly why he had grown more and more brazen.
But now, things had spiraled completely beyond his control.
And for the first time, Sean truly panicked.
