Aww Seven Exes Begged Cute Blocked novel Chapter 50

**A Promise Written on the Rusted Edge of Time by Dael Rowan Sire**

**Chapter 50**

Brooklyn, it must be quite the adventure to escape to another coast for the entire summer without a single word. Classes are about to commence—did you forget about our travel plans?

A month had passed in silence, and I could sense a crack in Aiden’s usual confidence. His voice, once steady and sure, now carried a hint of uncertainty.

Then, as if on cue, my mom’s voice chimed in, a comforting melody amidst the tension.

“Sweetie! How’s life treating you on the East Coast? Allen just filled me in about your fight. Don’t be too hard on him; we’ll figure this out when you return. And guess what? His college acceptance letter arrived today! Yours must be on its way too. When are you coming home to celebrate? I have something special planned just for you…”

Her words wrapped around me like a warm blanket, a reminder of the love that had always enveloped me. I couldn’t bring myself to sever that connection, so I listened, letting her words wash over me.

“Actually, we’re keeping things low-key. My parents are swamped with work—we’ll probably just have a virtual celebration. I might not make it back until move-in day…”

Before I could finish, Aiden snatched the phone from me, his frustration palpable.

His breathing was heavy, a storm brewing just beneath the surface, and even through the static, I could feel the weight of his anger.

“I’m trying here, Brooklyn. How long are you going to keep sulking? If you want to play it this way, fine. I won’t wait around for you to join me in New York.”

His words hung in the air, sharp and biting. When I fell silent, unable to respond, he added coldly, “Just don’t come crying to me when you regret this.”

With that, I ended the call, blocking his number as if it could erase the tension that had built between us.

“Are you really doing this because of a fight with Aiden? You can’t choose a college based on an argument.”

“What happens when you two reconcile? You can’t just transfer across the country.”

The conversation felt like a tug-of-war, pulling me in different directions, each side pulling harder than the other.

I had to put an end to this.

“Mom, Dad, I need to create my own path. Aiden has someone else now, and I need distance. Please support my decision. And for the love of everything, don’t tell anyone about this yet.”

They exchanged that familiar parental glance, a silent conversation passing between them. The room fell into a heavy silence before they finally nodded, their acceptance a quiet surrender. They just wanted me home soon. College was looming on the horizon, and they longed for those last precious weeks with me before I embarked on this new chapter of my life, one that felt both thrilling and terrifying.
