Knowing the whereabouts of Chiang Qing, Qi Taiguo’s heart is finally at ease. As long as she doesn’t show up in their living environment, all will be well.
The days of May pass by, and this year, there’s an unusual amount of rain, as if Heaven had opened up a spout, with the rain falling nonstop all day.
In just over two months, Cheng Su will give birth, so her movements are very clumsy. Even when going out, she needs Qi Fengping to accompany her, and she walks very slowly.
Despite this, she insists on going out, thinking that moving around more will make childbirth easier in the future.
Back home, whether it’s her in-laws’ or her own family, everyone is very tense. Mother Qi calls every day to inquire about Cheng Su’s situation, planning to come over in June to take care of her.
"Heaven, is it crazy today? The rain is pouring down so hard."
That day, after returning from school and getting off the bus, Qi Fengping hurriedly opened her umbrella, while helping Cheng Su get off slowly, saying, "Sister, be careful."
"Got it. You take care too, don’t catch a cold!" Cheng Su said.
"No worries, you are the most important." Qi Fengping positioned most of the umbrella to cover her.
The two sisters-in-law walked towards the compound. Soon, their shoes got wet, feeling very uncomfortable.
Finally spotting the yellow house of the military compound, they quickened their pace to get there.
"My goodness, is this like turning on a faucet or what!" At the entrance to the compound, Qi Fengping complained while folding the umbrella.
Cheng Su also brushed off some accidentally splashed water droplets from her clothes.
"I’m really looking for someone, not a fraud."
A voice entered Cheng Su’s ears. She looked up to see two people at the window of the guard room pleading with those inside, with a white tarp bag at their feet.
