Chapter 1866: Chapter 1868: She Hasn’t Given Up

Ever since Ning Ge heard what Cheng Su said about Chiang Qing praising Xiao Qi for being cute, he kept those words in mind. He had been a special agent, after all, meticulous in thought, and he knew full well that Chiang Qing wouldn’t say something like that for no reason—she must have done something.

So he still went to his old friend Bai Ying for help, and this time Bai Ying didn’t personally step in; she just introduced him to someone, a private detective named Cong Dang.

He had trained in the same batch as Bai Ying, except he hadn’t been selected in the end because of some personal reason. Later he opened a detective agency, and word was that the business he handled was quite refined and solid.

Ning Ge didn’t mind. He also knew that constantly asking Bai Ying to mix private matters with official business wasn’t very reliable, so handing it over to Cong Dang was fine, as long as he could dig up something on Chiang Qing for him.

After meeting with Cong Dang and explaining what needed to be done, Ning Ge went home to pick up and drop off Cheng Su at the airport for her return.

Cheng Su had only come over to attend the shareholders’ meeting; she stayed for two days, bought a few things, and was ready to head back. After all, she was a mother now, her son was still young. Although there was someone helping to look after him, she missed him terribly.

Sure enough, after visiting Old Master Ning, she got into Ning Ge’s car.

"You don’t need to worry about Chiang Qing. I’ve already got someone watching her. In the Capital, she can’t stir up any trouble." Ning Ge drove steadily as he spoke to Cheng Su.

Cheng Su made a small sound of assent and said, "She had someone investigate us, didn’t she?"

She wasn’t stupid. Chiang Qing wouldn’t say something like that for no reason. Besides, she wasn’t any sort of public figure, and her private life was not exposed to the public eye. In these past two years, she hadn’t had the slightest interaction with Chiang Qing, hadn’t even seen her, yet the other woman could say something like that. Aside from an investigation, she truly couldn’t think how else she would know.
