Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife novel Chapter 2020

Chapter 2020: Chapter 2022: Safe Return

Upon returning home from the orphanage, Cheng Su told Qi Xiaoqi about the old man’s desire for him to stay over for a few days.

"Since you’re not going out much these days, would you like to stay there for a while?" Cheng Su asked him, "The old man’s house is crowded and lively."

Qi Xiaoqi thought about it and nodded, "Okay!" Anyway, it’s the same wherever he is; not going out avoids trouble.

Cheng Su smiled, "Then I’ll take you there tomorrow."

Mother Qi looked over from the table and asked, "What about me?"

Both mother and son were momentarily stunned, and even Fei Yin looked over.

Mother Qi’s face was slightly flushed, she said, "Going to someone else’s house would be bothersome, Xiao Qi is still young, at an age where he’s mischievous, shouldn’t someone be watching him? What if he gets hurt?"

Her grandson was going to the Cheng family, Cheng Su was busy with work at the company, leaving her at home, which felt meaningless, especially since she didn’t know anyone around here.

Cheng Su said, "There are many people in the Cheng family; someone will take care of him. Besides, you know Xiao Qi is quite sensible, how could he be a mischievous kid?"

Mother Qi awkwardly said, "I’m just saying." Then she added, "Maybe he shouldn’t go?"

"I want to go." Qi Xiaoqi looked at Cheng Su and said, "It’s been a long time since I paid respects to the old man."

Cheng Su nodded.

Mother Qi snorted, wanting to say something but too embarrassed to.

The next day, Qi Xiaoqi was escorted to the Cheng family, with Mother Qi eagerly watching them leave, although she was too shy to suggest going as well. The child being young was one thing, but she, as an adult, would feel awkward imposing on others.

The house fell silent suddenly, with Cheng Su going to work, leaving just Mother Qi and a bodyguard staring at each other.

Poor bodyguard would rather accompany Cheng Su everywhere than staring at this old lady. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
