Cheng Su and Ying Xiaoya balanced accounts for the entire day, and it was only when the quitting time bell rang that the two of them stretched lazily and began to pack up to go home.
"Oh, my mom wants to invite you guys over to my place for dinner. She said it’s to celebrate my job change. When are you guys free?" Ying Xiaoya glanced at Ning Ge who was reading the newspaper on the sofa and said to Cheng Su.
Cheng Su smiled, "Is it us or him?"
Ying Xiaoya glared at her and retorted, "Of course, it’s you guys. Why wouldn’t you be? You’re both my bosses. If I don’t suck up to you, what will I do if you don’t promote me or give me a raise later?"
Cheng Su then said, "I’m free anytime, Taiguo, how about you?" She paused and then added, "Forget it, asking you is pointless, what could you possibly have on? I say we make it tomorrow night?"
"Hey, hey, I’m very busy, okay?" Ning Ge protested, saying, "You guys handled accounts all day, but wasn’t it me who bought the meals? Don’t I patrol the factory? Didn’t I chair the business meetings?"
"Fine, fine, you’re the capable one. How about visiting County Chief Ying tomorrow night then?" Cheng Su raised an eyebrow.
Only then did Ning Ge proudly lift his chin, saying, "I’m free tomorrow, let’s go!"
Ying Xiaoya looked at him with disdain and then said to Cheng Su, "Call Commander Qi too, since you’ll be coming, and there’ll be no one at home to cook."
Cheng Su thought for a moment and then agreed.
Meanwhile, Qi Taiguo frowned as he looked at the woman before him.
"How did Doctor Chiang find out about my birthday?"
He hadn’t taken the gift that Chiang Qing was offering, instead posing the question.
