Chapter 14 Kill The Wild Wolf

[Calling her a toxic waste is actually flattering her. Why doesn’t this vile woman just die for the good of others instead of continuing to harm them?]

Shane was a male beastman who couldn’t even catch a bitmon. Aside from being a mech genius, he didn’t have much else going for him.

Yet, when he saw Layla charge forward, he felt compelled to act.

Just as he was about to move, he heard Layla shout from ahead. “Get out of the way!”

Shane had a clearer view than Vanguard. As the gray wolf lunged at Layla, she seized its paws and tripped it, sending it crashing to the ground.

Shane scratched his head. It seemed staying out of the way was the best help he could offer. He turned back to the fire and watched the pottery.

[Holy crap! Did you see that? Is she even a female beastman?]

[Is that something a female can even do? She tripped a wild wolf?]

Under normal circumstances, apart from the more combat-oriented races, beastmen had the advantage of intellect over wild animals. But physically, they were often at a disadvantage.

Even male beastmen could struggle against a fierce predator. Female beastmen, with even less strength and stamina than males, were usually helpless against such threats.

But what happened next left the viewers even more stunned.

Layla didn’t just trip the wolf. Without hesitation, she snapped its neck with a single, brutal twist.

The Vanguard captured the crisp crack of breaking bones.

[I’ll never curse Layla again.]

[I was wrong! She killed the wolf. Please don’t kill me!]

[You fool! What good does killing one do? Wolves are pack animals. Who knows when the rest of the pack will come looking for revenge?]

In Shane’s comment section, viewers were urging him to get as far away from Layla as possible before he got caught in the crossfire. But Shane’s attention wasn’t on the comments.

Watching the whole scene with calm detachment, he looked up as Layla dragged the wolf back toward camp, leaving a long trail through the grass.

“Is this edible?” In his eyes, a hearty meal mattered more than the impending danger from the wolf pack.

“It’s edible,” Layla replied, tossing the wolf to the ground. She drew her knife and began to skin it with flawless technique.

Satisfied with the answer, Shane didn’t ask any more questions.

[Ancient times had the butcher who carved an ox. Today, we have Layla carving a wolf. Her technique makes me wonder if she was a killer in a past life.]
