Chapter 240 Moving On
A brave contestant looked closer and gasped, “She’s right. There’s nothing in his nose.”
Layla smiled lightly. “Looks like someone hurried to silence the person who opened the barrier.”
Everyone present was furious.
If not for Layla, they might all have died in the Quetzalcoatlus attack.
“Who would be despicable enough to try to kill us all?”
“Wait until I find him, I’ll tear him to pieces!”
As the crowd reacted angrily, Layla remained calm.
She looked at the corpse, then crouched again and pulled a nearly destroyed phone from its pocket.
Layla smiled.
George leaned in, confusion flickering in his glassy eyes. “What are you doing with that piece of junk, Layla?”
Layla carefully wrapped the phone and turned back, flicking George’s forehead. Then she looked at Liam.
Liam immediately understood.
All contestants, along with the production team at the camp, were prohibited from contacting the outside world.
But the production team needed communication systems for real emergencies.
So this man’s phone would have records. They could trace who ordered him.
Layla pocketed the phone, planning to have Shane try to recover its data when he felt better.
The records would be solid proof.
Just as she put it away, the roar of aircraft filled the sky.
Layla squinted up.
The production team had finally arrived.
A faint smile appeared on her lips.
Given the scale of the incident, the production team should have dispatched the Interstellar Guard while she was battling the Quetzalcoatlus.
Yet they showed up only after most contestants’ bodies had been recovered.
This incident seemed tied to them as well.

Fiona rushed to Layla, looking nervous. “Are you okay?”
Layla crossed her arms and shook her head.
“I’m fine, but you’re the one in trouble. After such a safety hazard during the show. I suppose you’re preparing for a few centuries in interstellar prison.”
Layla’s sharp retort embarrassed Fiona.
Her face turned crimson with embarrassment, and she stammered as she spoke, “We’ve thoroughly investigated. A staff member with a grudge against our production team set up the barrier to get revenge
As she spoke, she presented evidence, including the staff member’s daily complaints about the production team on social media, alongside shocking and inappropriate remarks.
For instance, threats to acquire an interstellar bomb to destroy the entire production team or to sneak in o Fiona’s home to kill her.
Layla regarded the so-called evidence with a cold smile.
It seemed the production team had arrived so late just to prepare this evidence. They really had gone to great lengths.
Liam stepped forward and glanced at the evidence.
His voice was steady, tinged with skepticism. “So you’re saying this was all because of one disgruntled employee?”
As an admiral, Liam’s presence alone was enough to make Fiona stammer.
But Fiona nodded bravely.
Seeing that Layla and Liam weren’t pleased, she quickly added, “Of course, the production crew failed to manage the employee’s emotional issues. So we’ll offer double compensation.”
When Layla and the others didn’t respond, Fiona rubbed his hands awkwardly.
“We’ll also move to a safer location to continue filming.”
At this, the live chat exploded.
[After all this, they still want to keep filming? Do they think the contestants are mere beasts of burden’]
