Mikaela picked up her phone and snapped a photo of the scene on the field, planning to post it in the group chat.
However, when she opened the group chat, she found that quite a few people had already posted the latest result and started a heated discussion.
The whole group chat atmosphere was lively and harmonious.
Mikaela roughly skimmed through it and couldn’t help finding it a bit funny.
In the past, whenever some old geezer’s student placed in an international or interstellar competition, everyone basically just sneered and mocked. Unlike now—each one of them is bursting with pride, as if the one who just won three matches in a row was their own student.
But Mikaela could understand them. After all, the opponent Qiao Sang had just beaten wasn’t just anyone, but someone from the Flame Class of Flame Heaven University.
The comments and reactions from those old geezers in the group lifted Mikaela’s mood another notch. She looked at the comments in the group and replied:
[Everyone calm down a bit, it’s just three wins in a row. The match isn’t over yet.]
As soon as that message was sent, comments popped up again in quick succession. Though there were still a few sour remarks, most of them firmly believed Qiao Sang would take the final victory in this match.
Mikaela quickly browsed everyone’s messages, the corners of her mouth involuntarily lifting.
On the field, a Mechanical Beast wearing a referee certificate came over to observe the suspended Shui Xixing for a moment, then raised a green flag and waved it once toward where Qiao Sang was.
A giant Virtual Screen appeared in midair. Under Xia Huo’s photo, Shui Xixing’s avatar turned from color to black and white.
"Xun Xun~"
Little Treasure Spirit retracted the shadow, raised its claws, and enthusiastically waved toward the spectator stands.
"Bang!"
Shui Xixing plunged into the water.
"Nether Ring Monarch has fought three consecutive rounds; its Energy should be heavily drained. Even if the Pet Beast Xia Huo sends out next isn’t her ace, there’s still a high probability that Mutual Return and Life Borrowing will be triggered in the upcoming match."
"Yin Bell."
"Yin Bell."
"Yin Bell."
Yin Zhongsi looked at that claw-waving figure on the field and called out several times, indicating that in the first two rounds Nether Ring Monarch’s Energy actually hadn’t been consumed much at all; Xia Huo’s Pet Beasts basically used their own moves to finish themselves off. The main drain was in the third round, where Nether Ring Monarch did burn through quite a bit of Energy. However, it remembered that among Xia Huo’s remaining Emperor Level Pet Beasts, apart from the ace Huo Xixing, the other one, Stone Worker, had only just recently evolved. Little Treasure Spirit should be able to toy it to death the same way it handled the Six-winged Firebird and Blade Scale Dragon in the first two rounds, taking it down without spending much Energy. If Xia Huo doesn’t want all five of her Emperor Level Pet Beasts to fall to Nether Ring Monarch, the safest option for her is to directly summon Huo Xixing to battle in the next round.
"Nether Ring Monarch’s two Traits, Mutual Return and Life Borrowing, still haven’t been triggered." Nephthys said calmly, "If Candidate Xia Huo sends out her ace Huo Xixing in the next round, it’s very likely Nether Ring Monarch will drag it down with itself. Then Xia Huo will be left with only one Emperor Level Pet Beast, Stone Worker, and at that point, she’ll have almost no hope of winning."
"Candidate Xia Huo is already at an absolute disadvantage." Auroal said, "No matter which Pet Beast she sends out, there’s a chance it’ll be taken down together by Nether Ring Monarch’s Mutual Return and Life Borrowing. It all comes down to what choice she makes."
