Bai Su nodded. "That’s right. He was in a wheelchair, but after eating my food, he said he could feel his legs again. It would be wonderful if he could make a full recovery."
Lu Tingyan abruptly shifted back to his human form, snatching the little rabbit from the water and cradling her in his palm. "Your food can even cure the disabled?!"
Bai Su was startled by his sudden, intense reaction. "I’m not really sure... We won’t know if it can heal them until we try."
It quickly dawned on Lu Tingyan.
’That’s right. If his food could heal the spiritual power trauma of a Level 9 Beastman like him, then healing those disabled individuals—most of whom were only Sixth and Seventh Level—would naturally be much easier!’
Cradling Bai Su as if she were a priceless treasure, Lu Tingyan said, "Susu, you are truly a gift to me from the Beast God!"
He hugged the little rabbit and showered her with kisses, leaving her so covered in slobber that her fur bristled with indignation.
’But I just washed my fur until it was spotless in the water!’
She kicked him in the face, leaving a perfect little rabbit-paw print, but Lu Tingyan wasn’t the least bit annoyed. Instead, he just grinned foolishly.
Bai Su said, "...I didn’t think I kicked you that hard. Did I knock you silly?"
Lu Tingyan kissed her fluffy little rabbit face. "Alright, baby, get some rest for now. There’s something I want to talk to you about tomorrow."
Bai Su was exhausted and didn’t have the energy to think about anything else. Lu Tingyan scooped her up, and she fell asleep almost instantly, nestled in his palm, completely unaware of when he finished blow-drying her fur.
「The next day.」
Lu Tingyan briefly explained the situation with the retired, disabled Beastmen who were being housed by the Bear Beastman Tribe.
Bai Su quickly understood. "You mean, you want to use my food to see if it can heal their disabilities and help them regain their independence?"
Lu Tingyan nodded. "You just keep making and selling your food as usual. I’ll transport it and distribute it to them."
Bai Su nodded. "Of course. It’s a good thing if we can help them."
"But I’d like to go see their situation for myself first."
Lu Tingyan ruffled the fur on her little head. Seeing that she showed no disgust at the mention of the disabled, but was instead exceptionally eager to help, made his heart soften. "Alright."
Lu Tingyan started to get up, ready to leave with her.
After a moment’s thought, Bai Su pulled him to a stop. "Wait a minute. It’s my first time visiting your territory. It wouldn’t be right to go empty-handed, would it? Let me go home and prepare some food!"
Lu Tingyan pulled her back, amused. "You don’t have to..."
Bai Su shot him a glare. "Of course I do! Yesterday was the day we got engaged. If you, the leader, aren’t going to give them any special perks, can’t I at least bring them some tasty treats to lift their spirits?"
Her earnest, determined expression made Lu Tingyan’s heart flutter. He absolutely loved how she already saw them as a single unit.
It gave him a profound sense of stability and security.
’Hmph. How could that stupid snake, Li Chenlin, who’d freeze to death just from an air conditioner, possibly compete with him?’
Bai Su had Lu Tingyan take her back to her mountaintop food shop. She grabbed over ten pounds of pre-made beef jerky and packed it into a small, collapsible storage container.
When the two of them arrived at the military headquarters, the soldiers on the training grounds grew excited at the sight of an exquisitely beautiful young female following Lu Tingyan, complete with fluffy rabbit ears dangling at the sides of her face.
The men nudged each other, none daring to approach, but they couldn’t stop sneaking glances in their direction.
Lu Tingyan’s icy gaze swept across the training field. "Feeling idle?"
The Wolf Beastman soldiers immediately snapped their heads back and resumed their drills, their expressions turning serious, disciplined, and fierce.
Bai Su called Yodel over and handed him a portion of the beef jerky. "I brought some snacks I made myself. There might not be enough for everyone, but I’ll bring more next time."
