Bedmates Soulmates novel Chapter 568

She knew how insatiable the man could be in the bedroom

Now she had a valid excuse to say no

Kira turned her face to the side and hid a smile.

It was free minutes past one am, yet Kira was still tossing and turning in bed.

She was all hopped up on happiness.

The p

pregnancy was unplanned, but Kira realised she welcomed the news wholeheartedly

She had a supportive husband and an understanding mother–in–law, which made her feel secure enough to start

She only wished her father could be here.

She didn’t want him to miss out on his first grandchild’s birth

Kira stared up at the ceiling, her eyes wide open

The king–sized bed felt empty.

Austyn had tucked her in and kissed her goodnight more than an hour ago.

Then he left to work in his sady

Kira flung the quir aside and got up

She padded to the study.

The door was ajar.

She poked her head through the open doorway

Austyn was sitting behind a pi

ok desk, his eyes downe ast

The glow of a computer screen cast his face in an off–white colour.

His brows were furrowed in concentration.

He flipped through a document in front of him and was scribbling something

There were four piles of files on the desk

Kira had no idea how much work he had finished, or how much

She Hit The Jackpot

He was lost in thought, oblivious to how much charm he was exuding at the moment.

He paused to ponder something he read, before moving his pen efficiently across the page.

Swish, swish and voila, another problem solved.

Kira swallowed.

Maybe it was the hormones.

She was undeniably turned on right now.

She touched her cheeks.

They were burning hot.

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Austyn tossed his pen aside and started typing on the keyboard.

He looked up and saw Kira in the doorway, standing still like a statue

“What are you still doing up?”

He checked the time. It’s one o’clock. Can’t sleep?”

He beckoned. ‘Come here.”

Kira slowly moved to the desk.

Austyn pulled her down to sit on his lap.

She caught the smell of strong black coffee and saw an empty mug on the desk.

The familiar ceramic ashtray was gone.

“What are you doing here? he asked again,

Kira wrapped both arms around his neck and rested her face against his chest. ‘I can’t sleep,‘

‘Do you want a couple of melatonin pills? He shook his head and shot down his own idea. Better not, I’ll consult Dr Lynch tomorrow, see what kind of medication you can take.”

‘I don’t need medication.‘

“What do you need then?”

“You,” Kira thought, but she didn’t say it out loud

Austyn stroked her back. “You’re pregnant now. You need all the rest you can get.”

‘I know.‘

Yet she did not move

‘Come on. You should go back to bed.

‘I can’t sleep,” Kira repeated.

Austyn pondered for a moment.

Then he shifted her body aside, got up and left the room.

Where was he going?

Bored, Kira spun herself around in the swivel chair.
