She tapped the screen repeatedly, but the call wouldn't go through.

Glancing at the signal bars, she finally realized something was wrong.

She snapped her head up, staring at Sienna as every ounce of her composure evaporated.

Sienna watched her with an icy gaze. "Who said I came here to kick you out?"

Celeste gripped her phone so tightly her knuckles turned white.

"Sienna, what did you do to this house?"

"I just learned from the best," Sienna smiled faintly. "Before doing something bad, always destroy the evidence first."

Celeste stiffened, utterly unable to decipher the hidden meaning behind those words.

She only knew that the freezing, mocking look in Sienna's eyes was making her scalp prickle and sending a chill straight down her spine.

Sienna's smile slowly turned dark as she took deliberate steps toward her.

"Lately, have you been having trouble sleeping at night? Do your legs randomly go numb? Is there a sharp, stinging pain in the soles of your feet that gets worse the more anxious you feel?"

The moment those words hung in the air, all the arrogance froze on Celeste's face.

Her lips parted slightly, but she couldn't force a single word out.

Because Sienna was entirely correct.
