The bodyguard stood at the doorway, practically blocking out all the light from the hallway.
His gaze swept over Celeste's pathetic form on the floor without a single shift in expression before he quickly stepped up to Sienna's side.
"Ms. Sloan, Jarred is here."
The bodyguard kept his voice low, but the urgency was impossible to hide. "He's exceptionally furious today. We won't be able to hold him off for long."
Exceptionally furious?
Hearing this, Sienna cast a downward glance at Celeste, who was writhing like a pile of mud on the floor, trembling in agony. A mocking smirk touched her lips.
Exactly as expected.
After all, this was the woman he protected with his life. Now that Sienna had personally ruined her, how could he not be furious?
Unbothered, Sienna elegantly straightened her clothes, tucked her needle case back into her pocket, and turned toward the door. Her pace was steady and unhurried, not a single hair out of place.
"Let's head downstairs."
The first-floor living room was already a total disaster zone.
Several of the villa's security guards were scattered across the floor, groaning with varying degrees of injuries.
Sienna's bodyguards were also down.
In the center of the massive, wrecked living room stood Jarred, completely alone.
He wore a fitted black dress shirt, the collar slightly unbuttoned.
His deep, predatory gaze, usually so detached and careless, was now overflowing with an incredibly dark, suffocating hostility.
Standing amid the chaos, his aura was freezing and violent, resembling a reaper who had just wiped out an entire battlefield.
His breathtakingly sharp features were clouded with rage, his jaw clenched tight, and his chest heaving heavily. He was clearly pushed to the absolute edge of his limits.
Then, the sharp click of high heels echoed from the staircase.
The very second he heard that sound, the explosive hostility radiating off Jarred vanished.
He forcefully suppressed every ounce of his near-uncontrollable darkness.
Turning around, he had already restored his usual aura of effortless, aristocratic dominance.
However, in the deepest depths of his pitch-black eyes, an unreadable, heavy darkness still lingered.
