Even if she couldn't get parole immediately, she figured it would sway Jarred's resolve and win over everyone else.
But she never anticipated that Sienna was more ruthless than her.
Leaving her absolutely no leeway, shoving her directly into an even deeper circle of hell!
"...No! I'm not going to a psychiatric ward... I'm not crazy! Sienna is the crazy one! She's setting me up! I won't go!"
Celeste thrashed and screamed, her fingers digging desperately into the doorframe.
No matter how hard the staff pulled, she refused to let go.
Her gaze darted frantically around, desperate and confused, as if searching for a savior.
Unfortunately, the dim hallway offered nothing but the pungent stench of decay.
Soon, Celeste was officially transferred into St. Jude's High-Security Psychiatric Facility.
Early the next morning.
Sienna had just returned to her office after morning rounds when her subordinate called.
"Ms. Sloan, the people at Sterling Manor found out about Ms. Carlyle being committed to the psychiatric ward. Eleanor and Helena rushed over there first thing this morning."
Sienna tapped her fingertips against her desk, her voice freezing cold. "Don't let anyone near her. Not even to pass a message."
"Understood," the subordinate replied, then added cautiously, "Ms. Sloan, there's one more thing. Word from the psychiatric ward says...
Ms. Carlyle has been telling everyone that you've always misunderstood her, accusing her of trying to hurt the old man, and that she's trying to steal Mr. Sterling from you...
She claimed she never had a single bad intention.
She also said... you're just incredibly insecure, and that she doesn't blame you for being harsh on her."
By the end, the subordinate's voice had dropped to a terrified whisper, holding their breath in anticipation of Sienna's explosion.
Little did they know, Sienna simply let out a cold laugh. "Do people actually believe the ramblings of a psychiatric patient?"
The subordinate didn't answer, but Sienna could already guess.
