Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 415

Jarred's gaze was heavy as he gave a faint nod, his tone leaving no room for argument. “You definitely owe her an apology. Whether she forgives you or not depends entirely on your future behavior.”

Daisy nodded frantically, as obedient as a tamed cat. “I will, Jarred. You can count on me.”

She lowered her head, her gaze sweeping over Jarred's hand resting on the armrest.

His knuckles were distinct, his fingers long and elegant.

A subtle yet astronomically expensive watch adorned his wrist.

Daisy's eyelashes fluttered, her lowered brow concealing the fleeting spark of ambition that flashed in her eyes.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the city.

By the time Sienna walked out of Thea's law firm, it was nearly ten o'clock at night.

A cool evening breeze stirred the loose strands of her hair.

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays were her designated days for treating Jarred's grandfather. Today happened to be Wednesday.

Just as Sienna reached her car, her bodyguard murmured a warning. “Ms. Sloan, we just received word. Master Sterling is returning to Sterling Manor tonight.”

Sienna didn't even break her stride. Not a ripple of emotion crossed her eyes as she coolly slid into the vehicle.

She and Jarred had been separated for a long time. The exhausting tug-of-war of their mandatory divorce cooling-off period had long since drained whatever lingering warmth existed between them.

She genuinely had zero desire to cross paths with him and add to their pointless drama.

However, the old man's medical condition couldn't wait. She absolutely refused to delay her patient's recovery simply to avoid running into her estranged husband.

“Take the side entrance,” she ordered, her tone icy.

The driver acknowledged the command and started the engine, smoothly pulling into the tranquil, sprawling grounds of Sterling Manor.

Bypassing the main courtyard's traffic entirely, the car parked silently outside the side entrance.

Her low heels clicking faintly, Sienna walked with a light, poised stride straight up to the second floor.

But the moment she rounded the corner of the corridor, she realized there was an extra person in the house tonight.

No, two people.

Sienna's steps slowed.

From the direction of the study at the end of the hall, she heard a girl's soft giggling.
