Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 511

The guards in the corner received the command, exchanging hesitant glances before carefully looking toward Jarred, who had remained entirely silent.

Jarred didn't say a word. His deep, dark eyes were locked securely onto Sienna.

Standing tall, the sharp lines of his suit accentuating his broad shoulders, his strikingly handsome face was cold and severe. Yet beneath the surface, a storm of complex, imperceptible emotions raged in his eyes.

Seeing him stay silent, none of the bodyguards dared to make a move.

Just then, the entourage of team members and sycophants trailing Celeste quickly spoke up, taking her side and glaring at Sienna with blatant hostility.

"Isn't Dr. Sloan taking this too far? Questioning an award-winning surgery based on a blurry shot?"

"Dr. Vaughan's skills are obvious to anyone who watches her. Why would she ever fake it? This feels like a targeted, malicious attack."

"She's probably just jealous that Dr. Vaughan is a rising star and happens to have the same face as Celeste. Didn't Dr. Sloan target Celeste the exact same way before?"

The piercing whispers of malice surged toward Sienna, the hostility completely unapologetic.

Amidst the chaotic confrontation, Sienna stood calmly, her expression unchanged from start to finish.

She didn't bother wasting any more breath on Celeste. Her gaze swept past the crowd.

Landing directly in the darkest corner of the banquet hall, on the man who had been keeping his head down the entire time, trying to render himself invisible.

It was Director Lawrence Langley—the man Celeste had hired to perform the entire surgery in her place.

The crowd's gaze instantly followed hers.

Director Langley stiffened in the corner, immediately burying his head even lower.

A fine layer of cold sweat broke out across his forehead, rolling down his temples.

He stared adamantly at the floor, refusing to make eye contact with anyone, especially not with Sienna, who was now walking slowly toward him.

Sienna stopped right in front of him.

The hall was so quiet you could hear people breathing.

Sienna looked down at the top of Director Langley's bowed head for two seconds before speaking. "Director Langley."
