Dust still lingered deep within Azure Ridge. The biting wind carried the damp scent of the forest, weaving through the fading tang of gunpowder.

A black Range Rover rolled to a smooth halt at the end of the mountain road, its tires crunching softly against the gravel.

Jarred stepped out of the vehicle. His dark gaze was sharp and unforgiving, radiating a suffocating pressure.

Declan followed close behind. He kept his footsteps light, not daring to disturb the heavy tension in the air.

The security team stationed by the blasted rock face tensed the moment they saw Jarred approach, immediately stepping forward to report.

"Boss."

The guard kept his voice low. "We've confirmed the location of the hidden lab. It's directly beneath the abandoned cabin up ahead. The entrance was camouflaged as a natural rock wall, layered with concrete and packed earth. We ran ground-penetrating radar, and there's definitely a space down there, roughly three thousand square feet."

"That large?" Jarred arched a brow. "What's the situation inside?"

The simple question made the surrounding air freeze.

The subordinate hurried to keep up, swallowing hard with a pained expression. "We... we don't know. We secured the perimeter the second we blew the entrance. The structural integrity is perfectly intact, but it's... it's completely empty."

"What do you mean, completely empty?"

Jarred stopped in his tracks. His jaw clenched, and a dangerous storm brewed in his gaze.

In a split second, the aura around him turned predatory.

As they spoke, the group descended into the underground bunker.

Jarred strode straight in.

Declan flanked him, having already produced a heavy-duty flashlight.

The entry tunnel was narrow, barely wide enough for two men to walk shoulder-to-shoulder.
