[BL] Accidentally Becoming the Healer of the Deranged Archduke novel Chapter 126

Chapter 126: The Wandering

Xion didn’t stop running until he reached his room.

The second he stepped inside; he slammed the door shut. He pressed his back against the wall.

His heart pounded in his ribcage, partly from the sprint, and partly from embarrassment.

He groaned, dragging his hands down his face. He did not expect the archduke to act like that.

"I am never speaking to him again! Hmm!" While venting his anger with his words, he pushed himself off the door and started pacing the room.

No. He had to erase that conversation from his memory. Immediately.

Fortunately, he had the perfect distraction. He had a whole sample of Darius’ mana to analyze, after all.

He looked at his ring, which now carried a sliver of dark green energy.

Without wasting another second, he went to his lab.

"System? Are you there?"

[Aren’t I always here, host? Is there something you need?]

Xion slumped into his chair, eyeing the ring warily. "Can you help me analyze this mana? Something’s... off about it."

[Apologies, host! I am only here for emotional support and motivation. But feel free to browse the System Mall for anything that might help!]

Xion’s lips twitched. Salesman mode activated. The system never missed a chance to push a purchase on him.

"No thanks," he muttered, dismissing the system and soon it disappeared at the back of his mind.

Turning his focus back to the table, he raised his hand, and then carefully activated the ring on it.

The mana started flowing out in a thin, controlled wisp.

Almost instantly, a strange sensation crawled up his arm.

Xion frowned. That was odd. Even when he had contained it before, he hadn’t felt it like this.

Now that it was outside of Darius’ presence, it was reacting differently. It was as if it was trying to drill into his body.

He quickly grabbed his notebook and started writing down notes.

- Murky green mana.

- Highly unstable.

- Feels... Alive.

His pen hesitated on the last word.

He stared at the mana curling in the air. The way it pulsed, flickered, and shifted as if aware of its surroundings, it almost felt like a living thing.

Xion’s face turned serious. Mana was equivalent to blood. It belonged to its wielder. It did not have a will of its own. It was not supposed to.

But this green mana was different.

This was definitely not normal.

Lost in thought, Xion spent the rest of the night hunched over his desk, running test after test, sketching diagrams, and scouring old notes from the book for any possible explanation.

Without knowing, Xion ended up spending all night in the lab. By the time exhaustion caught up to him, his back had started aching from sitting for too long.

With a sigh, he trudged toward the room connected to the lab. It was a modest space, but it had everything he needed. Bed, modern kitchen, and an attached bathroom.

After a quick, half-conscious shower, he all but collapsed onto the bed. Soon, he drifted into the dream world.

All this while he forgot that the time difference was only ten times.

Meanwhile, outside Xion’s chambers, Allen hesitated in front of the door before knocking twice. No response.

He knocked again. Still nothing.

A frown tugged at his lips. Teacher was always quick to answer. Even if he was exhausted, he would at least mumble something.

When Darius heard the report, his first thought was... Did I tease him too much?

...Should I tease him more?

A slow smirk curled his lips. Who told Xion to be so amusing?

"This is the law building. If anyone had something to file a complaint about, they can find peacekeepers here."

"Oh," Xion was actually impressed by the sheer size of the place.

But he had no intention of looking more into it.

Be it friendship or enmity with policemen, none were good.

With that thought, he walked past it.

As they turned the corner the scents of spiced honey, freshly baked pastries, and rare imported perfumes, rushed to their lungs.

These were the luxuries only the wealthiest could afford, and Xion had no interest in them.

So, he walked further, listening to the conversation between people.

Unlike the chaotic shouting of common markets, here, the salesmanship was refined, poised, and elegantly convincing.

"Madam, the finest velvet from the Eastern Empire. It’s soft as a lover’s touch."

"Young lord, a blade forged by the master smiths of the North, sharp enough to cut through fate itself!"

Xion almost laughed at the description. But soon he could not do so when he almost lost Noxian to a toy shop.

After buying a stuffed tiger for the child, Xion held Noxian’s hand tighter before setting off.

He finally found what he was looking for. A clothing store which looked decent and not too expensive.

When they came out of the store after almost an hour, Noxian was the most excited one among the three.

This was the best day in Noxian’s life.

How could it not be when he had so many clothes to wear now? And all of them were new!

He had no need to cut other people’s clothes and stitch them to his size!

Then they filled with their stomach while Xion kept teasing Allen and Noxian until it was time to leave.
