Blizzard First Love and a Wife Who Finally Snaps novel Chapter 303

“So you’re that unhappy to see me?”

Isabel certainly didn’t want to see him, but she wasn’t surprised he was here.

It saved her the trouble of looking for him.

“Since you have so much free time, Mr. Blackwell,” she said, glancing at her watch, “City Hall is still open. We can go handle the divorce proceedings right now.”

Adrian took a step forward.

Isabel immediately stepped back.

He advanced, backing her against the wall until she had nowhere to go.

As she tried to sidestep him, he grabbed her wrist.

With his other hand, he waved a document.

His voice was cold. “This marriage isn't something you can just start and end whenever you please.”

Isabel looked at the document in his hand. It was the new divorce agreement she had signed.

She had mailed it to him after confirming she was coming to Westbridge for the press conference.

Fearing he wouldn't accept it, she had specifically instructed the courier that it was an important document requiring a personal signature upon receipt, and that it was cash on delivery.

“And why can’t I start and end it whenever I please?”

Before, she had thought Adrian was just a control freak, unwilling to let things slip from his grasp.

That was why he refused to divorce, so she had even handed him the reins.

But now, she didn't care what he was thinking or how powerful his methods were.

She was taking control back.

If she could enter this marriage, she could end it.

“Even if you told me right now that you love me, Mr. Blackwell, I would still insist on this divorce.”

Adrian’s eyes were heavy, his entire being radiating a chill that seemed to have been with him since birth.

Julian maintained his grip on Adrian’s wrist, applying some pressure.

As old Mr. Reed’s grandson, he had learned a thing or two.

Isabel felt Adrian’s strength falter and immediately pulled her hand free.

She flexed her wrist, a red mark already visible.

Part of it was her fair, delicate skin.

The other part was the sheer force he had used.

“This marriage isn’t something you can refuse to end just because you don’t want to,” Isabel said, looking at Adrian coldly. “Don’t think you can erase the six years you spent with Selena by claiming you were just using her. Your travel records are traceable. To the outside world, you two were inseparable while I was left alone at home. Add to that how you orchestrated things to make me the scapegoat for Selena’s mess—that’s more than enough proof of a broken marriage and grounds for a lawsuit.”

“Adrian, I’m not the same person I was before, all alone. I have too many powerful people behind me now. You can’t control everything anymore.”

Adrian’s lips curled into a smile, but his eyes were chillingly dark. “Then let them try. I’d like to see if they have what it takes to make us divorce.”

“Until then, you and I are legally married, and no one can do a thing about it.”
