Blizzard First Love and a Wife Who Finally Snaps novel Chapter 363

When Isabel came out of the shower, she locked the door, knowing it was useless but doing it anyway.

She knew Adrian had been in the room.

He had a distinct, cold scent, a mix of something crisp and cedarwood.

She used to love it, and with her keen sense of smell, it was easy to recognize.

Sitting on the bed, she towel-dried her hair until it wasn't dripping. The room was warm, so she didn't bother with the hair dryer. With the towel draped over her shoulders, her phone buzzed. She picked it up.

It was a message from Kate Caldwell: [Less than 24 hours left, but no movement from Adrian.]

Isabel replied: [You can deal with that person as you see fit. I don’t think he’s interested anymore.]

Kate Caldwell sent back a question mark.

Isabel explained: [I’m not being narcissistic, but based on how Adrian is acting, he has no intention of divorcing me. So Selena is useless to him now. I’ll have to find another way.]

Kate Caldwell had seen for herself that Adrian didn't want a divorce.

But she had also clearly seen how determined Isabel was to get one.

Kate Caldwell: [Since you can see that, if I deal with her, isn’t he just going to pin it all on you?]

Isabel: [He’s already latched onto me. That’s why I need another way.]

Kate Caldwell: [Be careful, then.]

Isabel replied with an “Okay,” then put her phone down, pulled the covers up, and went to sleep.

She thought she smelled Adrian's unique scent again, but she didn't wake up.

Her internal clock woke her at six. After getting ready, Isabel went to the kitchen to find Martha.

“You shouldn’t be working, dear. Isn’t your right hand still bothering you?”

“I can still help you with a few things.”

Martha sensed something was off about her but couldn't put her finger on it, so she let her be.

The first thing Oliver did when he woke up was look for Isabel, but the guest room was empty.

He rushed to the master bedroom and ran right into Adrian on his way out. “Dad, Mom’s gone!”

The panic and distress were clear on his face.

Adrian didn't even check the guest room and led Oliver downstairs.

If Isabel had left, he would have been notified.

The kitchen was large, but with so many people crowded into it, it was easy to bump into someone.

Martha led Oliver out to avoid any accidents.

After a moment's thought, she decided not to go back into the kitchen just yet.

Only Isabel and Adrian were left inside.

Adrian watched her stir the thick porridge, his dark eyes flickering. “You’re not planning to poison this, are you?”

She was a pharmacologist, and a brilliant one. She could probably create any drug she wanted.

Isabel actually responded. “That’s right. I cooked today specifically to poison you. You’d better not eat any of it.”

It had been a long time since Adrian had eaten her cooking.

It was something the chef could easily handle.

When Isabel was gone, he hadn't noticed any difference in the food.

Only Oliver had fussed, saying it wasn't the same.

His grandmother had also said that the same dish tastes different depending on who makes it.
