Blizzard First Love and a Wife Who Finally Snaps novel Chapter 397

Old Mr. Foster and Oliver got along well.

Isabel accepted him now, and he had always dreamed of spending his retirement with his grandson.

But his retirement kept getting delayed, and his own grandson wasn't making it easy.

So he spent most of his time playing with Oliver.

"Alright." He handed him a periodic table. "First, you memorize all these elements, learn to recognize and write the words. Then, after you pass my test, I'll teach you the equations."

Oliver opened the book and immediately felt dizzy.

He asked, "Has Edmund memorized all of this?"

Old Mr. Foster could tell he was competing with Edmund.

But who could he blame?

He was the one who had rejected Isabel as his real mother in the first place.

He said, "You can't compare yourself to him, my boy. Not only has he memorized all the elements, but he can also apply the formulas with ease. Look, he can even develop some medicines on his own. But if you want to catch up to him..."

He calculated for a moment. "If you work really hard, maybe by the time you're thirty, you'll be close."

"Thirty?" Oliver was shocked. He counted on his fingers. "That's so many years from now."

Yes, it was.

Many years. By the time he was thirty and caught up to where Edmund was now, Edmund would be world-famous.

Old Mr. Foster didn't say this out loud, not wanting to crush the boy's motivation.

It was strange.

Both Isabel and Adrian were geniuses, but Oliver didn't seem to have the knack for it.

But maybe his talent wasn't in pharmaceuticals.

He asked, "Oliver, is there anything you especially love to do?"

Oliver hadn't thought about it before. He liked a lot of things.

He got them so easily that he never gave them much thought.

Seeing him thinking for a while without answering, Old Mr. Foster asked again, "Well, at your preschool, what kind of books do you like to read?"

"Do you want to be a soldier?"

Old Mr. Foster had been one his entire life.

His only grandson couldn't carry on the legacy, but if Oliver could, that wouldn't be bad at all.

"What do soldiers do?"

"How about this: you train with me, and we'll see if you can stick with it."

Oliver asked earnestly, "What kind of training? But I'm about to start kindergarten."

"It won't interfere. It's all about your perseverance."

Oliver didn't understand, but the thought of making his mother happy fired him up.

He started waking up at the same time as Isabel, eating at the same pace, and then following her to the lab. While she conducted her experiments, he trained with Old Mr. Foster in the courtyard.

The window of Isabel's lab looked out directly over them.

She was surprised. The child who used to be so frail, who still wasn't fully recovered, who had been so clingy and unwilling to do anything, was now holding a deep squat.
