Blizzard First Love and a Wife Who Finally Snaps novel Chapter 408

Oliver said, “I haven’t even earned Mom’s forgiveness myself, and what I did was much smaller than what you did. The terrible things you’ve done… I can’t help you with that.”

Adrian was speechless.

He was so angry he lost his appetite.

He had Daniel send the little instigator away immediately.

By the time Daniel returned from dropping Oliver off, Adrian was ready to be discharged.

He could move again, the stitches on his right hand had been removed, and since the hand was useless anyway, there was no need for rehabilitation at the hospital.

“Mr. Blackwell, I just received a call from Susan. You’re to return to the family estate tomorrow night. Everyone will be there, including Mrs. Blackwell.”

“Okay, I know.”

After packing, Daniel asked, “Are you sure you don’t need Dr. Lawson to check you again? What if you suddenly can’t move again someday?”

“It probably won’t happen. Isabel already examined me. Based on her reaction, as long as she doesn’t poison me again, I should be fine.”

Daniel noted that Adrian seemed almost happy about being poisoned by Isabel.

Let the couple fight it out. He was tired of being stuck in the middle.

When Isabel received the call from Susan, she didn't ask many questions and agreed to go to the estate.

Old Mr. Foster took a sip of tea. “Sounds like the old girl is getting ready to settle her affairs.”

Isabel had guessed as much. But she had been supplying the medication, and as long as Old Mrs. Blackwell wasn't subjected to any major shocks, she should have been able to live a while longer.

Could she have been that upset about Adrian’s hand?

That was one of the reasons she agreed to go—to see how things were.

Old Mr. Foster just smiled without saying a word. “As long as you’re clear on it. This old man doesn’t understand much about these things.”

The next evening, Isabel went to the family estate with Oliver. He was supposed to go there directly after school, but he insisted on taking a detour to pick her up.

At the gate of the estate, he pulled on her sleeve. “Mom, no matter what Grandma says, don’t listen to her. I’ll stop her for you.”

Isabel had been listening to it for years.

Mrs. Blackwell’s complaints were always the same. If she had let them get to her, could she have endured it for six years?

In truth, her harsh words were nothing compared to the monthly ritual of kneeling at the temple to pray, forbidden to eat or drink for a whole day. Through scorching summers and freezing winters, if she had truly held a grudge, she never would have lasted six years.

“You don’t need to worry about it. Adults will handle adult matters. Your job is to spend time with your great-grandmother and make her happy.”
